Best Credit Card for Black Friday Shopping at Warehouse Clubs:   Chase Freedom

The information for the Chase Freedom® has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets.  The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Why the Chase Freedom Is Great for Black Friday

During the 4th quarter of the year until December 31, 2018, the Chase Freedom bonus spending categories include warehouse clubs.  This means using your Chase Freedom card at Costco or Sam’s Club for Black Friday can earn you 5% back (5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1) on up to $1,500 in spending this quarter (combined with Chase Pay and department stores) when you activate the bonus.

Warehouse clubs are usually not included in bonus spending categories with most other cards, so this is an awesome opportunity for maximizing Black Friday rewards.  Costco is having a great Black Friday sale and I’m using my Chase Freedom to get 5% back on a TV purchase.

The Chase Freedom is an excellent card to pair with annual-fee Chase cards like the Ink Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or Chase Sapphire Reserve.  When you move points from the Freedom to one of these cards, you’ll have the ability to transfer points to airline and hotel partners, or book paid travel at an improved rate through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal.

It Is Pretty Rare That You Can Earn 5% Back at Costco and Sam’s Club. But This Quarter You Can With The Chase Freedom Card on up to $1,500 in Spending (Combined With Chase Pay and Department Stores) When You Activate the Bonus

You can also earn 5% cash back when you use Chase Pay, with the same category spending limit.

Welcome Bonus Details

With the Chase Freedom, you’ll earn $150 (15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Annual Fee

The Chase Freedom has no annual fee.

Best Credit Card for Black Friday Card at Amazon:   Chase Amazon Prime Rewards

The information for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets.  The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Why the Chase Amazon Is Great for Black Friday

Amazon is one of the top destinations for holiday shopping.  It should come as no surprise that one of the best cards to use for Amazon shopping is Amazon’s own Chase Amazon Prime Rewards card.

This card earns you 5% back on all Amazon and Whole Foods purchases if you have an Amazon Prime membership (otherwise 3% back).  There are regularly sales at Whole Foods exclusive to Prime members allowing them to save 10% on select items.  Your rewards balance is displayed at the checkout screen on Amazon, so that it can be applied to any future Amazon orders you place.  There is no minimum rewards balance to redeem.

You’ll also earn 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores.

Earning a full 5% back on a site that will let you buy almost anything is a great deal.  For folks who do a lot of shopping on Amazon, this can translate into significant savings.  I personally LOVE this card.  Amazon usually has great prices and earning a solid 5% bonus on top of those prices is just the icing on the cake!

Welcome Bonus Details

When you apply for the Chase Amazon Prime Rewards card, you can earn a $70 Amazon.com gift card instantly upon approval.  This is automatically added to your Amazon account and can be used immediately on any shopping you have planned.

Annual Fee

This card has no annual fee, however, you need to maintain an active Amazon Prime account (which costs ~$119 per year) to get the most out of this card.

Don’t Forget to Use a Shopping Portal

If you plan to shop online, remember to use a shopping portal for even more savings!

We like to use evreward or CashBack Monitor to find the best bonus.  And it’s worth checking the Chase Ultimate Rewards shopping portal to see if you can earn lots of bonus points for your purchase!  It’s a terrific way to double dip for extra rewards.

Bottom Line

These are the best credit cards for Black Friday to earn cash back or travel rewards:

No matter where you shop this Black Friday, there’s likely a travel rewards credit card that can earn you extra miles, points, or cash back!

For me, I’m looking to do most of my Black Friday shopping online this year.  What about you?

hello. i just bought a bunch of computer parts with the amex platinum card because of the extended warranty benefit. however, also having shop runner because of the amex platinum also helped. shipping costs are so expensive so having 2 and 3 day shipping is awesome!

That’s wonderful news! The extended warranty benefit really can be nice.

A few years ago, I used it to replace the keyboard on my laptop. Saved me a few hundred dollars!
