  • Pay attention to detail
  • Track your credit card balances

As long as you can manage your money and use your cards responsibly, you’ll do well in this hobby! One of the little-known secrets of this hobby is having several open credit cards can actually help improve your credit score.

So if you’ve been using a dusty old credit card to pay for your Amazon purchases, you shouldn’t be afraid to explore a new option that could potentially offer you a lot more value!

The 8 Best Amazon Credit Card Options for Earning Rewards

The best card to use for any purchase – Amazon or not – is the card you’re currently trying to meet minimum spending on to unlock a big bonus.

After you’ve done that, consider one of these cards to earn more rewards for your Amazon shopping!

Best Amazon Credit Card for Easy to Use Travel Rewards (tie): Capital One Venture

Apply for the Capital One Venture Card

Our Review of the Capital One Venture

Why This Card Is Great for Amazon Purchases

Capital One Venture cardholders earn 2 Venture miles per $1 spent on ALL purchases (including at Amazon). Many readers love the Capital One Venture card because the miles you earn are super easy to use.

You can just pay for travel with the card, including airfare, hotel stays, car rentals, Airbnb rentals, and much more! Then, redeem miles to offset the purchase!

Each mile is worth 1 cent toward travel. And there’s NO minimum redemption increment when redeeming miles, unless you’re using miles to partially pay for a travel purchase.  In that case, the minimum is 2,500 miles ($25). After you use your card to pay for a travel purchase, you have 90 days to “erase” it using your miles!

Intro Bonus Details

This card has a lucrative intro bonus that’s easy to redeem. The Capital One Venture card comes with 50,000 Venture miles (worth $500 in travel) after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months.  You can learn how to meet the minimum spending here.

And you’ll get:

Annual Fee

The card has a $95 annual fee, which is waived the first year. As long as you spend $4,750 per year, the rewards you’ll earn will offset the annual fee, because this card earns 2 Venture miles per $1. So spending $4,750 means you’ll earn 9,500 Venture miles, which you can then redeem for $95 in travel rewards!

Everybody has their favorite way to shop Amazon and get great travel rewards. I like to use my Chase Business Ink Cash to buy Amazon gift cards at Office Max and do all my Amazon shopping with those gift cards. I earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points which I transfer to my Chase Sapphire Reserve UL account for the great options of Southwest with double value with my companion pass, United, Hyatt, or the Chase travel portal.

“Best Amazon Credit Card for Cash Back Rewards on Business Purchases” should definitely be the Amazon Business Prime Card. No annual fee and 5% back destroys Capital One Spark Cash for Business.

Would you use a chase freedom card with 1.5 on every purchase that you can transfer to chase reserve for travel or a chase amazon card with prime? Is that a no-brained to use the latter?

Simply put, the Chase Amazon rewards card beats all others (whether or not you are a Prime customer).

Even if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve (which doubles your Ultimate Rewards), the most you would get out of Chase Freedom is 1.5% x 1.5 = 2.25%

While Chase Amazon rewards gets you 3% (without Prime) or 5% (with Prime).

The only time of the year when you should use Chase Freedom on Amazon.com is in Q4 when it’s a 5% bonus category (usually). Then you end up with 5% x 1.5 = 7.5% back.

Hi Debanjan – good points, but consider it’s sometimes possible to get much more than 2.25 cents per point worth of value when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points directly to travel partners.

For example, I’ve transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines for Business Class award flights and to Hyatt for free Hyatt hotel nights. These types of redemptions got me significantly more value than 5% cash back rewards.

Correction: CSR gives you 50% more points, not double

Also my first Chase Freedom reference was for the Freedom Unlimited. Second was the regular one.

It definitely depends on your travel goals. Personally, I use the 2 card Chase combination you described. But if you prefer to earn straightforward cash back, then the Chase Amazon card is a great choice!

In addition to the Amazon cash back, I recommend signing up for MyPoints and going through their website to earn MyPoints rewards on Amazon purchases in many categories.

Thanks for sharing the tip!

I believe the Barclays Jet Blue credit card earns 2 points on Amazon purchases also.

I believe you’ll only earn 1 point per $1 on Amazon purchases. That said, JetBlue points are valuable because the airline has no blackout dates. So it could still make sense to use that card. Thanks for commenting!
