You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points directly to 4 hotel partners – Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, and Ritz-Carlton.

Emily and I prefer to use our favorite flexible points for free hotel stays at Hyatt hotels.  Because Hyatt points go further than most other hotel points.  And they have many terrific hotels around the world, including Miraval Arizona, which recently became part of the Hyatt chain.

I love that you can book a free night for as little as 5,000 Hyatt points.  Or you can splurge for a special occasion and use more points to stay at fancy hotels like the Park Hyatt Paris – Vendome.

And it’s easy to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points to transfer to Hyatt with credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, and Ink Business Preferred Credit Card!

Our Secret to Getting Free Hotel Stays Is Using Chase Ultimate Rewards Points at Hyatt Hotels!

I’ll share why using Chase Ultimate Rewards points for Hyatt award stays is a great deal!  And remind y’all how to earn flexible points with Chase!

6 Reasons Hyatt Is the Best Chase Hotel Transfer Partner

It’s easy to get Big Travel with Small Money at Hyatt hotels!  That’s why many folks on the Million Mile Secrets team, including Emily and me, prefer to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt instead of other hotel partners.

Here are 6 reasons why!

1.   Book Award Nights With Fewer Points

You’ll pay 5,000 to 40,000 Hyatt points for a Hyatt award night, depending on the category:

  • Category 1 – 5,000 points
  • Category 2 – 8,000 points
  • Category 3 – 12,000 points
  • Category 4 – 15,000 points
  • Category 5 – 20,000 points
  • Category 6 – 25,000 points
  • Category 7 – 30,000 points
  • Category 8 – 40,000 points

Compared to other Chase hotel transfer partners, the Hyatt award chart offers the best deal.

For example, you can transfer 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for a free night at the luxurious Park Hyatt New York.  Team member Jasmin stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience.

Meanwhile, an award night at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park would require you to transfer 70,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to your hotel loyalty account.

Plus, the Park Hyatt New York ranks higher than The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park based on TripAdvisor reviews.  So you’ll use less than half the number of Chase Ultimate Rewards points to stay at a higher rated hotel!

Similarly, you can book free nights at Category 1 Hyatt hotels by transferring 5,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to your loyalty account.  But a stay at the lowest category Marriott hotel costs 7,500 points.  And the cheapest free nights at IHG hotels cost 10,000 points, unless its a PointBreaks hotel, which costs 5,000 points.

If you’re looking for Hyatt hotel inspiration, here are previous posts with my top picks and team member reviews:

2.   Excellent All-Inclusive Options

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt to book award stays at these all-inclusive hotels:

  • Hyatt Zilara Cancun
  • Hyatt Ziva Cancun
  • Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos
  • Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta
  • Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall
  • Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall

It costs 20,000 to 25,000 Hyatt points per night to book a standard room for 2 people at one of these hotels, which covers:

  • Unlimited drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and meals
  • Gratuities
  • Live bands and theatre performances
  • Wi-Fi internet access

Team member Scott wasn’t interested in paying the cash price to stay at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun.  But he thought using 25,000 points per night was a fantastic deal.  Because it covered all of his meals and the beachfront location was amazing!

3.   No Blackout Dates

Hyatt has a no “blackout date” policy.  As long as a standard room is available for sale, you can book it using points!  This isn’t the case at other Chase hotel transfer partners.

For example, I found a sample 5-night award stay at the Grand Hyatt New York in December 2017.  This hotel is a short walk from Times Square where the ball drops on New Year’s Eve.  It’s great that you can use points for a free stay during such a busy travel season!

4.   Get ~4+ Cents per Chase Ultimate Rewards Point in Value

Because Hyatt has no blackout dates, you can get incredible value for your points.  Especially during peak travel season or when a special event is going on near the hotel.

For example, team member Keith transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt to book 2 nights at the Hyatt Place Park City during the Sundance Film Festival when hotels in the area are very expensive.  Using 15,000 Hyatt points per night was a phenomenal deal because room rates were $600+ at the time!  This means he got 4 cents per point (~$600 cost of room / 15,000 Hyatt points for free night).

5.   Never Pay Resort Fees When Booking a Hyatt Award Night

You won’t pay those pesky resort fees when you book an award night at Hyatt hotels.  Emily and I weren’t charged the resort fee when we used points to stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui.

And these fees can add up.  At some resorts, you’ll pay ~$30+ per night!  So if you’re looking to save money, redeeming Hyatt points for an award night is the way to go!

6.   Stretch Your Points With Points + Cash

With Hyatt Points + Cash, you’ll use half the number of points you’d usually need for an award night plus pay half of the cash rate.

For example, at a Category 1 Hyatt hotel, you’ll pay 2,500 points (5,000 points) plus half of the daily cash rate for the night.

You’ll also earn points and credit toward elite status when you book with Points + Cash.  And remember to use the special Corporate Code to find all of the Hyatt hotels in a city or region that have available room nights using Hyatt Points + Cash!
