I’ve written about all the ways to earn Hyatt points.

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio if you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Plus, or (no longer offered) Chase Ink Bold cards.

If you have the Chase Freedom or Chase Ink Cash cards, you can combine your points and transfer them to Hyatt as long as you have 1 of the other cards!

That’s great because the Freedom has rotating 5X points categories in popular everyday spending categories like gas and groceries.  And through December 31, 2015, you can earn up to 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points when shopping at Amazon!

Here’s my full review of the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  It’s the #1 card I recommend for folks to new to our miles & points hobby.

The bonus of 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is nearly enough for 3 nights at Hyatt’s top beach hotels (worth over $1,000)!

Another way to stay at these top Hyatt hotels is to use the free night certificates you’ll earn with the Chase Hyatt card.

@will s – I edited the comment for you. 🙂

And thank you for your tips on Aruba!

I have the Chase Ink card. Should I cancel my Shappire to be eligible for the bonus again in 24 months?

ah, wish I could self edit that…. I was commenting on Ash’s q….. (not McMunch)

Ash — if you’ve been to the Hyatt Aruba, you know it’s gorgeous to be sure, if rather packed into the “high rise” hotel stretch….. the Hyatt being one of the best in that group. (I stayed recently at the aging Holiday Inn there — it’s nice too and can be very cheap on IHG points in fall and late spring.)

little fyi, most incredible beach hotel design I’ve ever seen goes to the Playa Linda (which sits between the Holiday Inn & Hyatt). Every room there has perfect, stunning views. (unlike the HI — where maybe 10% of the rooms have ocean front views)

Anyway, for all of them, very nice beaches, (very calm surf) super array of restaurants nearby…. Food at the Aruba hotels can be mega-expensive…. (yet nice array of “shacks” on and around the HR area beach & the Hyatt a nice budget $aver)

and oh by the way, for anyone who goes to Aruba, prepare yourself for a jarring intrusion into the Aruba seascape — since this past summer, — pair of huge, off shore oil rig ships…. surrrreal how close they are to the beaches. (and when you leave the island by plane, look back and you’ll get…. a bizarre memory)

Kept thinking—- well, for the island’s sake, I hope the lease “pans” out big….. but heaven help them if there’s ever a spill….

Last thing: nearly everything you’ll find on tripadvisor about Aruba is either terribly dated or heavily skewed by advertising/self interest. (forget google maps too)

@marc – I included it on my list of top Hyatt hotels in the US here:

I really enjoyed the Grand Hyatt Kauai, too! 🙂

@HeavenlyJane – Thanks for the tips! Are there any you’d add instead?

@Ash – Thanks for adding your pick to the list!

@McMunch – Thank you! I haven’t stayed there, but maybe other folks have and can let you know.
