How to Get This Deal

Here’s how to find this new offer for the AMEX Hilton HHonors card:

  • Go to the Hilton website
  • Search for a hotel room at any destination
  • Select a room and enter your personal information
  • When you get to the page where it asks for your billing information, you should see the card offer

What’s Better – 10,000 Hilton Points or $50?

There’s also another offer for the AMEX Hilton HHonors card.  When you sign-up and spend $750 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account, you’ll earn 60,000 Hilton points.

This gives you 10,000 more Hilton points, but you won’t earn the $50 statement credit.  So which deal is better?

Folks typically value Hilton points at ~0.5 cents per point.  That would make the 10,000 extra Hilton points you earn worth ~$50.  So it’s a very similar offer.

The 10,000 Extra Hilton Points Are Worth ~$50! But I’d Go With the $50 Statement Credit Instead

With the $50 statement credit you aren’t tied down with blackout dates or even Hilton hotels.  You can use the credit however you want.  So this is a better deal for most folks.

That said, if you have a trip coming up and you need the extra 10,000 points to book your stay, go with the 60,000 Hilton points sign-up bonus.

Do what works for you!  Just remember you can only earn the sign-up bonus on AMEX personal cards once per lifetime!

The AMEX Hilton HHonors card could be a good deal for folks who don’t want to pay an annual fee.  But some cards are well worth the fee and can save much more!

My favorite Hilton card is the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card because you’ll earn 2 weekend nights at almost any Hilton hotel when you complete the minimum spending.

The 2 Weekend Nights You Earn With the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Are Good for 2 Weekend Nights Including Top Hilton Hotels Like the Conrad Koh Samui!

And if you frequently stay at Hilton hotels, the AMEX Hilton HHonors Surpass card will give you the most Hilton points per $1 spent at Hilton hotels.

Bottom Line

You can now earn 50,000 Hilton points and a $50 statement credit with the AMEX Hilton HHonors card when you complete the minimum spending.

To find the offer, go to the Hilton website and make a test reservation.  When you get to the payment page, you should see the card banner.

For most folks this is a better deal than the AMEX Hilton HHonors 60,000 Hilton point offer.  That’s because the extra 10,000 points is worth ~$50, but the $50 statement credit gives you more flexibility.

However, if you have an upcoming stay planned and need the extra 10,000 Hilton points, consider the 60,000 Hilton points offer instead.

Emily and I don’t earn a commission on the AMEX Hilton HHonors card, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals!

That said, my favorite Hilton card is still the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve.  Because you can earn 2 weekend nights when you complete the minimum spending.  You can use those 2 nights to stay at luxurious Hilton hotels that cost ~$1,000 per night!

  1. 50,000 pts may sound large, but it is really weak to waste an inquiry on your credit. Hilton points are worth ~0.4 cents. So, it is barely making $250. CW says, you shouldn’t apply unless there is a reasonable chance of getting at least ~$500 to the destinations you want to go/stay at the time you want.

I recently looked at a Hilton property in Venice and it was asking for “2,951,432 points!” and it was giving me an option to pay “$87,742.96” to get those points for “one-night”. LOL!

  2. Hey ff_lover, what hotel was that in Venice?

  3. @Todd, Hilton Molino Stucky..it was hilarious to compare the cash value vs. the hilton points purchase for the presidential suite..

  4. Makes sense that it was the Presidential Suite. I am looking to stay at the Molino Stucky on points, so your post caught my attention. I’ll just book a regular room for 50k points (offseason), then hope to get upgraded due to my Diamond status. My guess is that Hilton advertises their best rooms for outrageous amount of points, as they don’t want to give those rooms away for free.

  5. Will you get the points if you previously had the same card from Amex?
