Now that the sign-up bonus on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card has increased to 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after completing the minimum spending requirements, you can get more Big Travel with Small Money than before.
This includes award nights at top-tier Hyatt hotels in Europe in the best locations worth over ~$1,000!
I’ve always said the best use of Chase Ultimate Rewards points is to transfer them to travel partners!
Of course, you still get 2 free nights at ANY Hyatt hotel when you sign-up for the Chase Hyatt card after meeting the minimum spending.

There are lots of ways to earn Hyatt points.
This is great news for folks who’ve had their eye on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. That’s because you’ll earn 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account, which is nearly enough for 2 nights at Hyatt’s top hotels (worth $1,000 or more)!
Keep in mind Chase has tightened their approvals if you’ve opened more than 5 cards within the past 24 months. So if you’re interested, make sure to get this card first!
And the Chase Freedom card has rotating quarterly categories that earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
For a limited time, you can earn 10X points (10% cash back) at Amazon through December 31, 2015, on up to $1,500 in spending.
The Freedom card also has an increased sign-up bonus of $150 (15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) after spending $500 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account, and NO annual fee!
So now is a good time to open a card that earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which is my favorite points program!
Two Free Nights With the Hyatt Card
If you’ve had a paid stay at a Hyatt hotel since May 1, 2015, you can earn 2 free nights at ANY Hyatt worldwide with the Chase Hyatt card after completing the minimum spending requirements. And you’ll earn a $50 statement credit.
Folks who haven’t stayed at a Hyatt hotel since May 1, 2015, can still earn 2 free nights but NOT the $50 statement credit.
Emily and I don’t earn a commission for either Hyatt card but we’ll always tell you about the best deals!
5 Hyatt Hotels in Europe That Make Great Award Stays
I like using Hotel Hustle to find hotels because it shows you how many points you’ll need for your specific travel dates, and show you if award nights are available!
Another option is AwardMapper. It shows similar information, but it’s not specific to travel dates and won’t search for available award rooms.
I haven’t personally stayed at all of these hotels, but they have great reviews! Let me know if you’ve had an experience with any of them!
Note: The prices in these examples are based on travel in April 2016.
1. Park Hyatt Milan
Rates here start at ~$631 or 30,000 Hyatt points per night.
If you sign-up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you’ll have at least 54,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after completing the $4,000 minimum spending requirement, which is most of the way toward 2 award nights at this hotel. And you’d save over ~$1,200!
Remember, you’ll earn even more points when some of your minimum spending is in the 2X categories of travel and dining. And 5,000 more Chase Ultimate Rewards points if you add an authorized user who makes a purchase within the 1st 90 days.
This hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway or a honeymoon in Italy.
2. Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome
This is a 5-star hotel that’s within easy walking distance to the Louvre and Tuileries, and is surrounded by tons of cafes and beautiful French architecture. Walk to the River Seine and enjoy beautiful views of the city during dinner on a river boat!
When I checked, nights here cost ~$737, but depending on the season, rates can run well over ~$1,000! So this is definitely a good way to redeem your Hyatt points or your free night award certificates!
3. Andaz Amsterdam, Prinsengracht
Nights at the Andaz Amsterdam, Prinsengracht cost ~$482 or 25,000 Hyatt points per night. So the sign-up bonus on the Chase Sapphire Preferred would be worth nearly ~$1,000 if you used your points here for 2 nights!

4. Park Hyatt Vienna
You’ll be walking distance to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Museum Quarter. You can also visit the Opera or the cafes that line the historic streets. Have a glass of Austrian wine along the way!
Nights here cost ~$631 or 25,000 Hyatt points per night. So you can save a lot of money on your special occasion if you redeem your points for award nights here.
From Vienna, you can take the train to Budapest or Berlin. Or drive to nearby Salzburg to see the Alps!
5. Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill
Nights at the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill are ~$458 or 25,000 Hyatt points per night. So the 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points you’ll earn are worth over $900 for 2 nights!
The hotel is located in London’s West End neighborhood, near Hyde Park, where you can visit art galleries and walk along the Serpentine.
You can also take the Tube to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, or the London Eye. Or maybe do some shopping at Harrod’s! Don’t forget to stop for a spot of tea!

There are several fantastic Hyatt hotels in Europe where you can get Big Travel with Small Money when you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt (or use the 2 free award night certificates after you meet the minimum spending on the Chase Hyatt card).
Get award stays at hotels like Park Hyatt Vienna, the only Hyatt in Austria, or the centrally located Andaz Amsterdam, Prinsengracht. Emily and I loved our time at the Park Hyatt Milan and Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome!
You can earn 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening a new Chase Sapphire Preferred card, which you can transfer to Hyatt to save $1,000 or more on award nights!
