Making everyday purchases in Chase Freedom’s rotating 5X points (5% cash back) bonus categories is a great way to earn lots of Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
But you have to activate the bonus. And today, September 14, 2016, is the last day to register for this quarter’s bonus at restaurants and warehouse clubs, like Costco, Sam’s, and BJ’s. That runs through September 30, 2016.
If you spend the maximum this quarter, you’ll earn 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($1,500 X 5 points per $1 you spend). That’s worth $75 cash back.
Here are 5 ideas to help you earn the full 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points with Freedom this quarter!
30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points in 5X Categories per Year
And if you spend the maximum every quarter, you’ll earn 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($300 cash back) each year (5X points X $1,500 X 4 quarters).
Earning 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points is one reason I keep the Chase Freedom in my wallet! Plus, it has no annual fee.
Combine With Benefits of Other Chase Cards!
If you also have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus, or Chase Ink Bold card, you can move Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned from the Freedom to 1 of those accounts.
And from there, transfer them to terrific travel partners like United Airlines and Hyatt. That’s how you get Big Travel! Because even just 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is enough for a free night at Category 1 Hyatt hotels. Or for certain flights on Southwest or American Airlines.
Don’t Have the Freedom Card?
With the Chase Freedom card, you can earn 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($150 cash back) when you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account.
And you’ll get another 2,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($25 cash back) when you add an authorized user who makes a purchase in the same timeframe.

Just remember, Chase has stricter application rules. If you’ve applied for ~5+ cards from any bank (except these business cards) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for most Chase cards.
Here’s how to get $225 worth of flights with the Chase Freedom’s sign-up bonuses. And how to use it for Big Travel on Southwest, United Airlines, American Airlines, and at Hyatt hotels.
And don’t forget, on September 15, 2016, you’ll also be able to activate the Chase Freedom’s 4th quarter bonus categories, which includes wholesale clubs too! Don’t worry, you won’t invalidate this quarter’s bonus by activating another!
