The last day to apply online to earn 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points with the Chase Sapphire Reserve is January 11, 2017. After that, you’ll only earn 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after meeting the same minimum spending requirement of spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
With this card, you’ll also get:
- 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on travel & dining
- 1X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on all other purchases
- $300 annual credit for travel purchases such as airfare and hotels
- $100 statement credit for Global Entry
- Priority Pass Select for access to airport lounges
- No foreign transaction fees
- Visa Infinite benefits like $25 food and beverage credit at the Luxury Hotel Collection and complimentary car rental elite status with Silvercar
However, according to The Points Guy, you’ll still be able to earn the higher bonus if you apply in-branch before March 12, 2017.

Link: What to Do If You’re Not Eligible for the Chase Sapphire Reserve Bonus
Because of Chase’s tougher application rules, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve if you’ve opened ~5+ cards from any bank (except certain business cards) in the past 24 months (the “5/24 rule“).
But some folks have had luck getting pre-approved for the card in-branch, even if they’re above 5/24.
You could also “product change” another eligible Chase card to get the card benefits listed above, including 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on travel & dining, and an annual $300 travel credit.
There are other big offers still available, like the 100,000 point bonus for the The Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN which also expires this month, on January 25, 2017. Plus, it won’t count against your future Chase 5/24 status.
I was instantly approved and value the sign-up bonus at $2,300 toward airfare!Bottom Line
If you want to earn 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, January 11, 2017, is the last day to apply online! It will then drop to 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, after meeting the same minimum spending requirement.
Keep in mind the higher bonus will still be available in-branch through March 12, 2017.
Emily and I don’t earn a commission for this offer, but we want you to get the most points possible while it’s still available!
