As American Airlines continues its march toward dynamic pricing we are seeing an increase in the number of incredible award deals. And right now there are domestic awards starting at 5,000 miles one-way for what looks to be just about every destination American Airlines serves (depending on the dates), including transcontinental routes.
These web specials come and go without warning, so if you see a route you like you should grab it while you can. Just know that Economy Web Special awards can’t be changed, even if you have American Airlines status.
American Airlines Economy Web Specials
There isn’t an official expiration date on these deals, but we don’t expect these prices to be around for long. Also, many routes are available for 7,500 miles or 10,000 miles, which is still a discount of 2,500-5,000 miles off the standard AA Award chart prices.
Right now there are literally too many routes on sale to even begin listing. There are even deals available from smaller airports, which isn’t common to see. I’m seeing 5,000-mile one-way flights from places like Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Little Rock, Arkansas.
There are also limited transcontinental routes available for flights from Boston or New York to Los Angeles. Deals like these are some of the best uses of American Airlines miles.
Here are a few examples of what you can book:
New York (JFK) to Austin (AUS) for 5,000 miles + $5.60 one-way:
Los Angeles (LAX) to New York (JFK) for 5,000 miles + $5.60 one-way:
Chicago (ORD) to Miami (MIA) for 5,000 miles + $5.60 one-way:
