I think the Chase Ink Business Preferred is currently the top card offer.  Because you can earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points (worth $1,000 in travel) after meeting minimum spending requirements.  It’s the largest sign-up bonus available among any of the cards earning Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which are my favorite type of flexible points!

Million Mile Secrets team member Keith recently submitted an application for the card.  But it wasn’t for him, it was for his mom!  I’ll let him tell you why he wanted his mom to get the Ink Business Preferred.

Keith:   Thanks, Daraius!  Collecting miles & points to save lots of money on travel is a team effort in my family.  And by team effort, I mean I have my mom and dad’s Social Security Numbers memorized, so I can submit card applications when lucrative sign-up bonuses come around.  Of course, it’s only done with their permission! 🙂

Earning the Ink Business Preferred Sign-Up Bonus Will Replenish Points My Mom Recently Used for an All-Inclusive Stay at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos!

Earlier this year, I earned the 80,000-point Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus, which I used to book a Business Class award flight to New Zealand!

So already having the card means I was able to take advantage of the Chase Refer-a-Friend program to earn easy points by having my mom apply for the Ink Business Preferred.

Collecting flexible Chase Ultimate Rewards points has helped my parents save money on wonderful travel experiences to destinations like Canada, California, Italy, Mexico, and New York.  They’ve even used points for luxurious redemptions that would have otherwise been too expensive to book, like flying First Class on Cathay Pacific!

Because they regularly use their points, I like to help them apply for new cards to boost their miles & points balances!  And for their travel goals, earning the Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus is a no-brainer!  You can redeem the sign-up bonus points to get:

My Parents Have the Southwest Companion Pass, so My Mom Can Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards Points to Southwest and Get 2-for-1 Flights to Cities Like New York!

With the Ink Business Preferred, you’ll also get:

  • 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points for every $1 you spend on travel, shipping purchases, internet, cable and phone services, advertising purchases made with social media sites, and search engines (up to a maximum of $150,000 in combined purchases per account anniversary year)
  • 1X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on all other purchases
  • Up to $600 in cell phone insurance when you pay your cell phone bill with the card
  • Primary auto rental insurance (CDW) when renting for business purposes, plus purchase and extended warranty protection

The $95 annual fee is NOT waived the first year.

You must have a small business to qualify for this card.  But you might have a business without realizing it!  For example, my mom generates some side income from a home rental, which the banks view as an eligible business.

And when she applies for small business cards (or when I apply for her), she just enters her Social Security Number on the application.  There’s no need to apply using a fancy EIN (Employer Identification Number).

Just keep in mind, Chase will NOT approve you for their Ultimate Rewards points earning cards if you’ve opened 5 or more credit card accounts (from any bank) in the past 24 months (NOT counting Chase business cards and these other business cards).

And I Got 20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points!

If you’re already a cardholder, you can earn 20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points for each friend or family member you refer to the Ink Business Preferred.  You can earn up to a total of 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per year with 5 referrals!

So when applying for my mom, I used my referral link.  I received the 20,000 bonus points on the billing statement right after her card approval!  Thanks, Mom!

Bottom Line

Team member Keith recently helped his mom submit an application for the Chase Ink Business Preferred.  This is currently one of my favorite card offers because the 80,000-point sign-up bonus is worth $1,000 in travel!

Even though this is a small business card, it’s relatively easy to qualify.  If you make extra income with a side activity, like a home rental, you could be eligible!  Remember, you can apply using just your Social Security Number!

Remember, if you’re already an Ink Business Preferred cardholder, you can earn points by generating your own referral link.  That got team member Keith an easy 20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points!
