I haven’t personally stayed at all these hotels, but they have excellent reviews. Let me know if you’ve had an experience with any of them!
1. The London Edition
The London Edition is a luxury hotel in central London, near the West End. This is where many of the city’s popular attractions are, as well as shops and entertainment venues. For example, the West End theaters are a ~15 minute walk. So you can catch a show, then enjoy fine dining at The Wolseley.
When you’re not out and about, you’ll enjoy the custom designed furniture in the hotel rooms. The hotel also has a restaurant, 2 bars, and a dance club.
Folks on TripAdvisor say it would be hard to find a hotel better than The London Edition. Reviews mention the luxurious decor, excellent food, and great location.
You’ll pay 50,000 Marriott points for a free night. Or you can convert 17,000 Starwood points!
This hotel regularly costs $700+ per night. You can get a great deal using your points!
2. The Park Tower Knightsbridge
The Park Tower Knightsbridge hotel is a Luxury Collection hotel. So it’s part of the Starwood chain.
The hotel has an excellent location with the Knightsbridge Underground train station steps away. And the hotel has 16 floors. So if you’re able to get a room on a high floor, you’ll get amazing views of Hyde Park or the London Eye.
You’re also a ~5 minute walk from the amazing shopping at Harrods.
This hotel ranks highly on TripAdvisor because folks like the polite staff and special touches. For example, one couple without Starwood elite status booked this hotel for their honeymoon and was upgraded to a suite with a free bottle of champagne!
You can use 20,000 Starwood points for a free night. Or if you collect Marriott points, you can convert 60,000 Marriott points.
Using points will save you ~$400+, which is the regular cost of a room night.
3. London Marriott Hotel Park Lane
Elegant. That’s how folks on TripAdvisor describe the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane.
The hotel is located near Hyde Park. And it’s only a ~7 minute drive or ~20 minute walk to Buckingham Palace.
At the hotel, you’ll enjoy 5-star amenities in the guest rooms, like luxury bedding and marble bathrooms. And folks with elite status can spend time in the executive lounge.
An award night at the hotel costs 45,000 Marriott points. Or you can convert 15,000 Starwood points.
The cash cost of a room at the hotels ranges between ~$290 and ~$575. So redeeming points can be an excellent way to save money!
4. W London – Leicester Square
If you’d like to be in a central starting point, you can stay at the W London – Leicester Square.
W hotels are part of the Starwood chain and typically have modern room designs and amenities. For example, rooms at the W London – Leicester Square have rainforest showers, Bliss Spa bath products, and modern lounge chairs.Folks on TripAdvisor rank this hotel highly because of the location. You’re steps from Piccadilly Circus and amazing restaurants like The French House Soho. Reviews also mention the amazing room service.
You’ll pay 20,000 Starwood points (or you can convert 60,000 Marriott points) for a free night. You can use the ~$500 savings from the cost of a regular room night to go to a nearby performance at Queen’s Theatre or Leicester Square Theatre.
5. St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London
The St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel is located in the King’s Cross area of London. Harry Potter fans might recognize this location from references in the book. 😉
King’s Cross is home to one of the major train stations that connects London to cities in Europe. And there are lots of attractions in the area like:
- Camley Street Natural Park
- Charles Dickens Museum
- King’s Place
- London Canal Museum
- St Pancras Old Church
The hotel has a Gothic-style design and is more than 100 years old!
Folks on TripAdvisor love the character, design, and service.
The hotel also has a lounge where Victorian horse and carts used to drop wealthy passengers near the train station.
A free night costs 45,000 Marriott points. Or you can convert 15,000 Starwood points. I think this is a great deal to travel back in time to the late 1800’s architecture of this hotel!

1. Chase Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Credit Cards

Link: Ritz-Carlton Rewards® Credit Card
With the Marriott Rewards Premier personal and small business cards, you’ll earn 80,000 Marriott points after completing minimum spending requirements.
If you get the personal version of the card, you can earn another 7,500 bonus Marriott points when you add an authorized user and make a purchase within the first 3 months of opening your account. The $85 annual fee is NOT waived for the first year.
The $99 annual fee on the small business version of the card is also NOT waived for the first year. Here’s my review of the offer.
2. AMEX Starwood Credit Cards

Link: Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express
You can earn 25,000 Starwood points after completing the minimum spending requirements on the Starwood Preferred Guest personal and small business cards.
When you pay for hotel stays using your Chase Marriott or Ritz-Carlton card, or AMEX Starwood card, you’ll earn bonus points at all 3 hotel chains.
For everyday non-bonus spending, I recommend the AMEX Starwood cards. Because you’ll earn 1 Starwood point per $1 you spend, which you can converted to 3 Marriott or Ritz-Carlton points. That’s better than the 1 Marriott or Ritz-Carlton point per $1 you spend you’ll get with the Marriott and Ritz-Carlton cards!3. Qualifying for These Cards
AMEX cards are easier to get than Chase cards. Because earlier this year, Chase made it more difficult for folks to be approved for cards if you’ve opened ~5 or more credit cards (from any bank) in the past 24 months (excluding certain business cards).
But keep in mind you can only earn the bonus on any AMEX card once per lifetime.
That said, you ARE eligible for the Chase Ritz-Carlton card even if you’ve opened lots of cards recently!
Bottom Line
You can stay at upscale hotels in London using Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, or Starwood points!
For example, travel back in time at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, inspired with Gothic architecture. You’ll pay 45,000 Marriott points for an award night, or you can convert 15,000 Starwood points. Or stay in the modern and centrally-located W London – Leicester Square for 60,000 Marriott points, or 20,000 Starwood points.
Before you book, be sure to link your loyalty accounts. This way you’ll get all of the benefits of your elite status across all 3 hotel chains!
