Better yet, with hotel credit cards you’ll be able to book with points. Check out our guide to the best hotel credit cards, and we’ll list the best cards for each brand below.
Here is our ranking of several Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt brands that you might want to check out for your next vacation.
Hotels With Kitchens Plus Free Breakfast
1. Marriott
Marriott comes out on top of this analysis because of its selection of extended-stay properties with fully equipped kitchens, and complimentary breakfasts. Here are a few Marriott brands that stand out.
(If Marriott properties are catching your eye, you can earn Marriott points by applying for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card, or the Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card.)
TownePlace Suites
If you book with TownePlace Suites, you’ll have access to a kitchen with a full refrigerator and freezer, sink, microwave, cooktop, kettle, dishwasher and utensils. The free breakfast includes breakfast sandwiches, waffles, and morning favorites such as cereal and fruit. Also, enjoy the on-site fitness center and in many cases, a pool.
Residence Inn
Suites at Residence Inn properties feature a kitchen with a full refrigerator and freezer, sink, microwave, cooktop, coffee maker, dishwasher, utensils and toaster. Plus, you get complimentary delivery of groceries right to your room. If you don’t feel like cooking in the morning, enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast as well as access to the fitness center and often a pool.
Element
Element by Westin is the smallest brand of the three, but these extended-stay properties feature suites with a full kitchen as well as a complimentary breakfast with whole fruit, granola, and something hot. These properties also have fitness centers and usually pools, but it’s important to note that the complimentary breakfast is not available in Asia Pacific properties.
2. Hilton
Hilton features two major extended-stay brands, Home2 Suites and Homewood Suites, but one of Hilton’s luxury brands (Conrad) also features a residence option in a few properties worldwide. Here’s a brief comparison of Hilton’s residence brands.
(If you want to earn Hilton points before your next trip, consider applying for the Hilton Honors American Express Card, the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card, or the Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express.) The information for the Hilton Aspire card and Hilton Surpass card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Conrad Residences
Not all Conrads are the same, but book a residence room or suite in some Conrads and you’ll get access to a full kitchen that includes a four-stove burner, microwave, full refrigerator, freezer, Nespresso, kettle and pots and pans. Unfortunately, breakfast isn’t included for free (unless you have Hilton Gold status or higher) but breakfast is available at the on-site restaurants. Additionally, you can take advantage of the on-site fitness center and in most cases a pool.
Home2 Suites
At Home2 Suites, you’ll have a kitchen with a full refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, microwave, toaster, utensils, china place settings for six and sometimes induction cooktops. This brand includes a fitness center, usually a pool, and a free breakfast with hot breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, waffles, coffee, juice and more.
Homewood Suites
Similar to Home2 Suites, Homewood Suites has kitchens with full refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, sink, and stovetop. You also have complimentary grocery service. Again, you’ll have access to the fitness center and pool and your free breakfast buffet includes eggs, bacon or sausage, hot and cold cereals, fruit and yogurt.
3. IHG
IHG generally dresses to impress with its additional services, on-site convenience stores and creative programs designed to keep guests happy. However, IHG comes in at Number 3 here because it’s harder to depend on getting a free breakfast with IHG. Here are a few IHG brands that come with rooms suitable for cooking your own meals.
(If you want to earn IHG points to redeem at one of these properties, consider applying for the IHG® Rewards Premier Credit Card, read our IHG credit card review for more details.)
Candlewood Suites
At Candlewood Suites, you’ll have a full kitchen featuring a full refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, counter space and dishwasher. If you’re missing ingredients or supplies, you can take advantage of Candlewood Cupboard and pick those up on site. You will have access to the fitness center and pool, but there’s not always a free breakfast. You can purchase a “brown bag” breakfast on the go at Candlewood Cupboard.
Staybridge Suites
This is probably your best bet for kitchens and dining with IHG. Staybridge Suites feature full kitchens with a full fridge and freezer, microwave, cooktop and dishwasher. Additionally, you may visit The Pantry, a 24/7 on-site convenience store. As for other amenities, you can enjoy the fitness center, pool, free hot breakfast and free laundry.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations
At Holiday Inn Club Vacations locations, vacationers and families can book a suite with a full kitchen including a full refrigerator and freezer, microwave, cooktop and everything else you’ll need. Breakfast depends on your specific package and is not necessarily complimentary, but you will have access to the fitness center and pool as well as other included amenities.
4. Hyatt
Hyatt comes in last here, but that definitely doesn’t mean that you should steer clear of the chain. On the contrary, Hyatt offers some great extended-stay and business-travel accommodations, but as the smallest of the major brands, it simply doesn’t have the hotel footprint to compete. Here are two great options to consider for your next trip.
(If you want to stay at a Hyatt hotel on your next trip, sign up for the World of Hyatt Credit Card and kick-start your account with up to 60,000 bonus points! Earn 30,000 Bonus Points after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening; Plus, up to 30,000 more Bonus Points by earning 2 Bonus Points total per $1 spend on purchases that normally earn 1 Bonus Point, on up to $15,000 in the first six months of account opening. Or consider signing up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.)
Hyatt House
Hyatt House is the exclusive extended-stay brand under the Hyatt umbrella. Rooms have a full kitchen, including a full refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, etc. Free breakfast includes a build-your-own omelette bar as well as typical favorites. Take advantage of the Borrows Program in case you forgot something, and enjoy the on-site fitness center, pool, laundry and grocery service.
Hyatt Place
This brand is an upscale accommodation for business travelers. Although rooms at Hyatt Place do not include kitchens like the other properties mentioned, World of Hyatt members will enjoy complimentary breakfast when booking directly with Hyatt. Designed with business travelers in mind, these properties feature fitness centers, pools, meeting spaces and rest areas.
