1. Fairfield Inn & Suites Denver Downtown
Denver is a great spot for a vacation, no matter what time of year you’re traveling. There’s so much to see and do, from visiting the Denver Botanical Gardens and the Denver Zoo, to making the trek to the top of Pikes Peak!
If you’re looking to spend a few nights here, consider the Fairfield Inn & Suites Denver Downtown. It gets outstanding reviews on TripAdvisor for its convenient location, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast.
This Category 5 Marriott hotel costs 25,000 Marriott points per night, or ~$294 in September 2017.
With the 100,000 Marriott points from the Chase Marriott card, you’d have enough points for a free 5-night stay. Because the first 4 nights will cost 100,000 Marriott points (25,000 points X 4 nights), and you’ll get the 5th night free.
If you paid cash, a 5-night stay would cost nearly $1,500! That’s a great deal from a card with only an $85 annual fee!
2. Courtyard New Orleans Westbank / Gretna
Only 5 minutes from downtown New Orleans, the Courtyard New Orleans Westbank / Gretna would be an excellent choice for a longer stay in this vibrant city.
I found rooms at the Courtyard New Orleans Westbank / Gretna in September 2017, for ~$240 or 20,000 Marriott points per night. So you could get 6 free nights at this hotel with the 100,000 point sign-up bonus from the Chase Marriott card.
Because you’d get 5 nights for 100,000 Marriott points (20,000 points per night X 5 nights). And an additional night for free with Marriott’s 5th night free perk, for a savings of ~$1,440!
Just remember, hotel prices in New Orleans can vary, especially during special events like these. And if you’re booking an award stay, you’ll want to reserve your rooms early.
3. Fairfield Inn & Suites Charleston Airport / Convention Center
Considering a trip to the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina? The Fairfield Inn & Suites Charleston Airport / Convention Center is an easy option to use your Marriott points for a free stay.
This hotel gets outstanding reviews on TripAdvisor. Folks rave about the convenient location, because it’s near the airport but also close to downtown!
The rooms have a microwave and mini-refrigerator. And breakfast is included in your stay! Plus, you’ll have a pool to escape the summer heat if needed. 😉
Nights here in September 2017 cost ~$215 or 25,000 Marriott Rewards points. So with the 100,000 Marriott point sign-up bonus on the Chase Marriott card, you’ll have enough for 5 free nights.
You’ll pay 100,000 Marriott points for 4 nights (25,000 points X 4 nights) and get the 5th night free. Saving you over $1,000!
With all of that extra cash, you could enjoy a few of Charleston’s world-class restaurants!
4. Residence Inn San Diego Sorrento Mesa / Sorrento Valley
The Residence Inn San Diego Sorrento Mesa / Sorrento Valley gets nearly all 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor. It is near the popular San Diego Zoo and Sea World!
It’s a Category 5 hotel that costs 25,000 Marriott Rewards points or ~$170 a night in September 2017.
This hotel would be an excellent choice for families, because the rate includes free breakfast and every room has a kitchenette. So you could eat-in if you’re trying to save money, and use the savings for a trip to LEGOLAND!
5. Residence Inn Austin – University Area
If you’re planning a trip to Austin (home of Million Mile Secrets!), you could use the 100,000 point Chase Marriott card sign-up bonus for a 5-night stay at the Residence Inn Austin – University Area!
Austin is an amazing city with lots to do, like sampling a food truck, listening to live music at a local bar, tubing down one of the nearby rivers, or going to a football game.
And rooms at the Residence Inn Austin – University Area in September 2017 cost ~$327 per night! But instead, you could use 25,000 Marriott points per night for a free stay.
With the 100,000 Marriott point sign-up bonus from the Chase Marriott card, you’ll have enough points for 5 free nights here.
The first 4 nights will cost 100,000 Marriott points (25,000 points X 4 nights). And you’ll get the 5th night free!
That’s a savings of ~$1,635 (~$327 per night X 5 nights), enough for an endless supply of Texas barbecue. 😉
6. SpringHill Suites Las Vegas Convention Center
Nights here cost ~$171 per night. But you could save your cash for the blackjack table, and use 25,000 Marriott points for a free night instead!
A 5-night stay would cost 100,000 Marriott points with the 5th night free perk, for a savings of ~$855 (~$171 per night X 5 nights).
More About the Chase Marriott Card
When you sign-up for the Chase Marriott Premier Rewards card and spend $5,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of opening your account, you’ll earn 100,000 Marriott points.
Other perks of this card include:
- 1 free night in a Marriott Category 1 to 5 location on your card anniversary
- 5 Marriott points per $1 spent at Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and Starwood hotels
- 2 Marriott points per $1 at restaurants, on car rentals, and airline tickets purchased directly from the airline
- 1 Marriott point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- No foreign transaction fees
- 15 nights credit towards elite status (so you get Marriott Silver status)
- Visa Signature discounts
And you’ll earn an additional 7,500 bonus Marriott points when you add an authorized user and make a purchase within the first 3 months of opening your account.
The $85 annual fee is NOT waived for the first year.
Note: You are NOT eligible to receive a new Chase cardmember sign-up bonus if you’ve received a bonus on the same card in the past 24 months. And because of Chase’s “5/24 rule,” if you’ve opened ~5+ cards from any bank (except these business cards) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for most Chase cards, including the Chase Marriott card.
Plus, you’ll earn another 7,500 bonus Marriott points when you add an authorized user and make a purchase within the same timeframe.
There are lots of terrific Marriott hotels in the US that would be great for a 5+ night stay!
For example, the 100,000 Marriott point bonus is enough for 5 nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Charleston Airport / Convention Center, near downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Or for a 5-night stay at the Courtyard New Orleans Westbank / Gretna, near the French Quarter.
