Folks traveling to Dubai should take a look at the Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, where Million Mile Secrets team member Keith stayed as part of his honeymoon last year.

Located in the Marina district near the Palm Jumeirah, the Grosvenor House is a ~10 minute drive to the world-famous Burj Al Arab hotel, and the Mall of the Emirates, which has an indoor ski slope!

One of the best things about the Grosvenor House is its award-winning dining.  The hotel has lots of restaurants, including Indego by Vineet, a restaurant with a Michelin Star winning chef!

Thanks to Million Mile Secrets readers Motown, NM, and mq for suggesting Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa as a top-notch Starwood hotel.  I haven’t stayed here, but it looks incredible!

Tambo del Inka is located in the Urubamba mountains outside of Cusco, Peru.  The hotel has its own dedicated train station, which takes you to the town of Aguas Calientes, at the foot of Machu Picchu!

Folks rave about the incredible views around the hotel.  And the hotel’s beautiful architecture, too.

6.   The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Portland

The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel, has an unbeatable location in the middle of Portland.  It’s in the top of historic Meier & Frank building.

Million Mile Secrets team member Joseph used Starwood points to stay in a suite last year.  He says the building is old and the floors are creaky, but it actually adds to the charm of the hotel.  And the in-house restaurants are AMAZING.

He doesn’t recommend upgrading to a suite, as it’s nothing extra special.  And make sure to request a city view if you don’t want your window to overlook the atrium.

If you’re willing to walk 2 blocks, you can park your car in a garage and save the valet parking fee of $47 per day.

  1. It’s not easy to book cash + points or other Starwood programs for Europe hotels. I’m going to Barcelona in summer. Since Sept last year, I’ve been searching for Starwood hotels in Barcelona, when I called the answer is always those hotels are not available. Is there any tips to book a reward hotel with Starwood? thanks

  2. Do you get points and qualifying nights for cash + points?

  3. You have to pay taxes when you use cash and points but you don’t have to pay taxes if you use all points.

    • like he said though, award stays still pay resort fees, parking, and tax on both of those at many of the high end properties.
