  1. Cannot get suite rooms even in a candle wood suites kind of property with points. With or without the deal. Just wanted to share in case someone didn’t know. I have never been able to book any suite room anywhere with points. The standard rooms are the only ones one can books

  2. @Pam You are right indeed. However, in my recent stay with Candlewood Disneyland LA, I was upgraded with point stay. You could ask nicely at check-in, highly YMMV

  3. I have tried this before and they just block a whole bunch of dates so it’s impossible to get anything on a weekend (even a non-holiday weekend). I just checked at two hotels in North America and absolutely nothing is available for points. One can still pay and book. Not sure how one would succeed in booking anything?! Thanks

  4. Thank you all for this. I just made a reservation for an upcoming road trip in a couple of weeks. That is combined with the VISA Signature hotel stays you told us about a while back. Just like my last vacation you are helping make this one much more affordable as well!
