If you’re looking for a last-minute Hawaiian getaway this is your chance! The deals are nationwide with flights for as little as ~$284 or less than 19,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points round-trip in coach. Sale cities include Denver, Houston, Newark, Portland, and more!
Most of these sales are for Basic Economy tickets on American Airlines. But I saw cheap flights with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Sun Country. If you decided to use points to pay for these flights, remember that you’ll be able to earn frequent flyer miles at the same time!
These cheap fares are mainly for October 2018 through December 2018. For example, there are round-trip coach flights from:
- Denver to Honolulu or Lihue for $284
- Houston to Honolulu or Lihue for $284
- Newark to Lihue for $289
- Portland, Oregon to Honolulu for $295
- Salt Lake City to Kona for $298
- San Francisco to Lihue for $284
- and more!
It’s easiest to use Google Flights to find the dates for the cheapest fares. Here are our posts on how to use Google Flights and ITA Matrix to find sale dates. You can also find these prices in the new Chase travel portal, which means you can book them for fewer Chase Ultimate Rewards points!
Normally if you transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to an airline and booked an award to Hawaii, it would cost you 24,000 to 35,000+ points per round-trip coach ticket. With prices as low as this, it can make sense to pay with points for your flights to Hawaii!
For example, if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can pay for airfare through the Chase travel portal for 1.5 cents per point. Or with the U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card, your points are worth the same 1.5 cents per point when you book airfare through the US Bank travel center. So the cheapest flights will only set you back ~18,933 points with either card (~$284 airfare / 1.5 cents per point)!
If you can make the sale dates work, this is an excellent deal! Let us know if you book a ticket!
