Usually, points transfer at a 1:1 ratio. But with this deal, if you transfer 1,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points, you’ll get 1,250 Hawaiian Airlines miles.

And points transfers are instant, which is great if you want to book an award flight right away!
What Can You Do With Hawaiian Airlines Miles?

A one-way ticket from the mainland US to Hawaii costs:
- 20,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles in coach
- 40,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles in First Class
And one-way inter-island flights, like between Honolulu and Kauai, cost 7,500 Hawaiian Airlines miles in coach, or 15,000 miles in First Class.
Just remember, the flights between islands are so short, it’s usually NOT worth booking a First Class ticket. 😉
And Hawaiian Airlines doesn’t add fuel surcharges. So you’ll just pay ~$6 in taxes and fees each way.
You can also use Hawaiian Airlines miles to fly on partner airlines, like JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic. This can be a great deal, because Hawaiian Airlines does not add fuel surcharges to flights on partner airlines either!
More Ways to Earn AMEX Membership Rewards Points & Hawaiian Airlines Miles
You can earn American Express Membership Rewards points from cards like the AMEX Premier Rewards Gold, The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum® Card from American Express, the AMEX Business Gold Rewards card, and the AMEX Mercedes-Benz Platinum.
And there are also the Barclaycard Hawaiian Airlines personal and small business cards that offer Hawaiian Airlines miles.
Just remember, I always recommend getting any Chase cards you want first, because of their stricter approval rules.

Partner airlines like JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, and Virgin Australia allow you to enter your Hawaiian Airlines frequent flyer number to earn Hawaiian Airlines miles too!
Also, West Coast folks might do better using British Airways Avios points to get to Hawaii!
Bottom Line
Through June 21, 2017, you’ll get a 25% bonus when you transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to Hawaiian Airlines miles.
Inter-island one-way coach flights in Hawaii cost only 7,500 Hawaiian Airlines miles. And a one-way coach ticket from the mainland US to Hawaii costs 20,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles. So this could be a good deal if you have a specific trip in mind!
