INSIDER SECRET: One way to stretch your Hilton points even further is by taking advantage of Hilton’s 5th night free on award stays, which you’ll have access to if you have any level of Hilton status. Hilton status is easy to earn because it comes automatically with an Amex Hilton credit card.

Right now some American Express Membership Rewards accounts are being targeted for a transfer bonus to Hilton. If you qualify you’ll have a bonus of 10%-50%, I was targeted for a 30% bonus.

Amex Membership Rewards Points Hilton Transfer Bonus

Normally, Amex points transfer to Hilton at a 1:2 ratio in 1,000-point increments, so if you’re targeted for a 50% bonus you could transfer Amex points at a 1:3 ratio. In most cases, the best ways to use Amex points is to transfer to one of Amex’s airline partners to book award flights, especially expensive business or first-class seats.

However, if you’re eligible for the 50% transfer bonus and you can combine it with Hilton’s 5th night free on points stays, you definitely can find some sweet deals, but in general I prefer to earn Hilton points by opening one of the Amex Hilton credit cards:

The welcome offers for the Hilton Honors, Hilton Surpass and Hilton Business cards are limited-time increased bonuses that end on August 28, 2019, so if you’ve had your eye on any of those cards, now is a the time to apply.

The information for the Hilton Honors Business card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
