Amex Offer: Earn 9x points (or more) at Amazon

Signing up for credit cards through partner links earns us a commission. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Here’s our full Advertising Policy.

Check each of your Amex accounts to see if you’re targeted to earn up to 8 bonus Amex Membership Rewards points per dollar you spend at Amazon!

If you’re targeted, you could earn up to 10 total Amex points per dollar, depending on which card you use. To qualify, you’ll need to have a card that earns Amex points, like The Platinum Card® from American Express, the American Express® Gold Card or others from our list of the best Amex cards, linked to your Amazon account.

Additionally, there are a few deals where you can save up to $50 on your next Amazon order by using just one Amex point.

Earn 8x bonus points at Amazon

With this new promotion, you’ll earn 8x bonus points on Amazon, plus the points you normally earn from your card. Normally, most Amex cards earn 1 per point per dollar on Amazon, so many should expect to earn a total of 9 points per dollar with this deal.

This is an Amex Offer, so you’ll have to login into your Amex account and add the offer to your card.

To qualify for this bonus you’ll need an American Express card that earns Amex Membership Rewards points. The offer isn’t available for everyone, so it’s possible you won’t see it attached to your card. However, reports indicate that this is widely available.

Unfortunately, that means you won’t be able to use many of the best credit cards for Amazon purchases for this discount. But it doesn’t really matter, since this is such an excellent deal for earning bonus points. To earn the 8x bonus Amex points, you’ll need to use your enrolled Amex card to spend at Amazon through Dec. 31, 2020. Make sure to read the terms of the offer before you make a purchase!

Note that you’re capped at a total of 3,000 bonus points. This means you’ll only receive this bonus for $375 in spending. If you were to use a card like The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express,  you’d be earning a total of 10 points per dollar for your purchases, giving you a total of 3,750 Amex points. We estimate Amex points value to be 1.8 cents each, so that’s an effective return of $67.50 in travel for your $375 purchase.

The Amex Blue Business Plus earns 2x points on every purchase (on the first $50,000 in purchases per calendar year; then 1x). It’s a great card to have because it has no annual fee (see rates and fees). And as an Amex small business card, it won’t appear on your personal credit report, so it doesn’t add to your (or any authorized users’) Chase 5/24 count.

This new Amex Offer comes just in time for holiday shopping and is among many of the deals you can stack to save big on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Save $10 to $50 on Amazon by using just one Amex point

This lucrative deal allows you to save up from $10 to $50 by applying just a single Amex point to your order. Log in to your Amazon account and try the link below to see if you’re eligible for the deal:

Unfortunately, I was only targeted for 10% off ($10 off) on my order, but Doctor of Credit says some are receiving discounts of up to $50. If you’re not seeing any deal at all, make sure your Amex Membership-Rewards-earning card is linked to your Amazon account.
