Last week I let you know about the upcoming Daily Getaways promotions. And today, April 10, 2017, at 1:00 pm Eastern Time, you can buy a $50 gift certificate for Alamo car rental for $25!
This is probably the best deal of the week for most. Because you can buy up to 3 certificates, and save $75 on your next Alamo rental.
But you have to be quick, because the great deals sell out fast.
I’ll show you how to take advantage of this excellent offer!

The Daily Getaways deal for today, April 10, 2017, is a $50 gift certificate to Alamo car rental for $25.
The offer goes live at 1:00 pm Eastern Time, and there are only 2,000 certificates available. So you’ll need to have the site loaded on your browser and ready to click on the deal, because it will sell out quickly!
You can buy a maximum of 3 certificates, which can be used towards any Alamo car rental in the US. And because you can use all 3 certificates on one car rental, you can essentially save $75 off an Alamo rental with this deal.
Alamo will email you the certificates within 5 business days of purchase. And if you’re using more than one certificate on a rental, you must call 866-626-9102 to reserve your car.
Note: The certificate can only be applied to the base rate for the rental, not taxes or extras. So it wouldn’t make sense to rent a car for a day with a rate of $50 or less, because even if the total with taxes is over $50, you can only apply the certificate to the base rate.Is It Worth It?

Getting up to $75 off an Alamo car rental is certainly a good deal deal, especially if you planned on renting from Alamo anyway.
But the terms and conditions of this deal imply that it’s only valid if you book with Alamo directly. So you can’t stack the deal with the methods I’ve written about to save money on rental cars.
For example, you couldn’t use the gift certificate to book a rental car through Chase Ultimate Rewards, Hotwire, or Priceline.
I searched for a 2-day rental on July 7, 2017, in Denver with Alamo. With a prepaid rate, a compact car was ~$207 including taxes and fees.
If you used the $50 Daily Getaways certificate, you’d pay ~$182 (~$207 rental price – $50 gift certificate + $25 cost of certificate).
To compare, a rental in Denver for the same dates through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal only costs ~$140. So it’s worth comparing prices before you use your certificates!
And remember, if the base rate for your rental is less than $50, it’s NOT worth using the Daily Getaways certificate. Because it only counts towards the base rate, not the taxes and fees!
Bottom Line
Today, April 10, 2017, you can buy a $50 Alamo car rental gift certificate for $25 through Daily Getaways. That’s a 50% discount!
The offer goes live at 1:00 pm Eastern Time.
You can buy a maximum of 3 certificates (for a savings of $75!), and use them on any Alamo car rental in the US. But the booking has to be made directly through Alamo, not a 3rd-party website like Orbitz or Priceline.
As always, I suggest comparing prices to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
