A few weeks ago, I told you about the upcoming Daily Getaways promotion.

Via One Mile at a Time, we now have a preview of what to expect from the 2017 Daily Getaways!  You’ll have the chance to save on hotels, car rentals, amusement parks, and more!

Daily Getaways is a 5 week long promotion offered every year by the US Travel Association.  And they’ve released a preview of the first 2 weeks.

Daily Getaways Can Sell Out Quickly, So Take a Look to See If Any Interest You Before They Sell Out

I’ll share what we know about the deals, and let you know if they’re worth it.

Starting April 10, 2017, a new deal will be available on the Daily Getaways website each weekday at 1:00 pm Eastern Time.

Pay close attention to start time if any of these deals interest you!  There are limited numbers of each giveaway, and some can sell out quickly!  In the past, some of the best offers have sold out within seconds.

Here’s what you can expect for the first 2 weeks of Daily Getaways.

1.   April 10 to 14, 2017

2.   April 17 to 21, 2017

Are These Good Deals?

I’m not super excited about any of the deals in this preview.  Most of the hotel packages are expensive and for very specific hotels.

The 50% off Alamo car rental deal is probably the most useful for most.  You’ll pay $25 for a $50 Alamo certificate, and you can buy up to three.

Folks headed to Las Vegas can likely find something helpful from the MGM and Caesars packages.  And families will appreciate the discounts at Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios.

The ability to buy IHG points at .57 cents each isn’t that exciting, either.  IHG frequently has 100% bonus sales that allow you to buy points at nearly the same rate.  Plus, you can always use the IHG cash & points trick to buy points at very cheap rate.

I’m most excited about the 15,000 Wyndham points for $175 (though the same number of points was just $150 last year).  That’s because you can use 15,000 points to stay at nearly any Wyndham hotel worldwide, including expensive resorts!  If you have a pricey Wyndham hotel in mind, you could save lots with this deal.

Note:   Remember to use a credit card that earns bonus points for travel purchases, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Citi Prestige.  When you buy deals from Daily Getaways, they code as travel.

Million Mile Secrets team member Jasmin used her Chase Sapphire Preferred last year to earn 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points for her Daily Getaways purchases.

Bottom Line

We now have a preview of the first 2 weeks of Daily Getaways 2017!  However, the deals aren’t that great.

There are lots of Las Vegas hotel package deals, as well discounts at amusement parks like SeaWorld and Universal Studios.  And there are several opportunities to buy hotel points at a discount, but they aren’t a fantastic deal.

What do you think about the upcoming Daily Getaways?

One of the reasons to be excited about the purchase of points with this deal used to be that it allowed you to exceed the maximum number of points purchased per year if I remember correctly. I’m not sure if they count these toward your annual limit, but IHG only allows the purchase of 60,000 points per year and the gifting of 60,000 per year for a max of 120,000, I know they allow that to be doubled when they have the free 100% bonus with purchase i.e., buy 60,000 get 60,000 free promotion but I would really like to know if you can buy the 100,000 or 130,000 points package through Daily Getaways and then turn around and buy again through the IHG promo or if the points purchase would not be allowed since it was higher than the limit?
