Are These Good Deals?
I’m not super excited about any of the deals in this preview. Most of the hotel packages are expensive and for very specific hotels.
The 50% off Alamo car rental deal is probably the most useful for most. You’ll pay $25 for a $50 Alamo certificate, and you can buy up to three.
Folks headed to Las Vegas can likely find something helpful from the MGM and Caesars packages. And families will appreciate the discounts at Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios.
The ability to buy IHG points at .57 cents each isn’t that exciting, either. IHG frequently has 100% bonus sales that allow you to buy points at nearly the same rate. Plus, you can always use the IHG cash & points trick to buy points at very cheap rate.
I’m most excited about the 15,000 Wyndham points for $175 (though the same number of points was just $150 last year). That’s because you can use 15,000 points to stay at nearly any Wyndham hotel worldwide, including expensive resorts! If you have a pricey Wyndham hotel in mind, you could save lots with this deal.
Note: Remember to use a credit card that earns bonus points for travel purchases, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Citi Prestige. When you buy deals from Daily Getaways, they code as travel.Million Mile Secrets team member Jasmin used her Chase Sapphire Preferred Card last year to earn 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points for her Daily Getaways purchases.
Bottom Line
We now have a preview of the first 2 weeks of Daily Getaways 2017! However, the deals aren’t that great.
There are lots of Las Vegas hotel package deals, as well discounts at amusement parks like SeaWorld and Universal Studios. And there are several opportunities to buy hotel points at a discount, but they aren’t a fantastic deal.
