Chase Ultimate Rewards points are my favorite type of flexible credit card points.  I’ve redeemed more than a million of these points over the past few years to save BIG on lots of different types of travel.

Besides amazing redemption options, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are easy to earn.  I have 5 cards in my wallet earning these valuable points.  Each card has different bonus spending categories, which makes it easy to accumulate points on everyday purchases.

Transferring points to travel partners usually gets you the most value for your points.  And it gives you a chance to book spectacular First Class flights or 5-star hotels you might not otherwise book if you were paying cash!

1.   Flying Business Class Home From Sydney

Last year, my wife and I were thrilled to travel with her parents and family friends to New Zealand and Australia.  In total, we used more than 1 million points (mostly from Chase) to get  $60,000+ worth of travel on this trip!

One of the miles & points highlights of the trip was booking 6 Business Class award seats home from Sydney.  Paying cash for the same 6 seats would have cost nearly $45,000!

But by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines, including some earned with my Ink Business Preferred card, my only out-of-pocket expense was ~$540 to cover the taxes & fees for all 6 award tickets.

My wife, in-laws, and family friends loved the comfortable lie-flat seats for the ~14 hour flight home.

2.   All-Inclusive Stay at a Top Rated Wellness Resort

I recently wrote about a life-changing trip my wife and I took to Miraval Resort.  To make this trip possible, I transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to my Hyatt account.  Then, booked a free night at the resort.

Paying cash for a double occupancy room at the resort could cost more than $1,500 per night.  And aside from the amazing value we got by using points, experiencing new activities like meditation and team building exercises made this use of points extremely fun.

As a reminder, when you use points to book at Miraval, each person gets a $175 per day resort credit.  So you can splurge on limited activities or treat yourself to a spa service.

3.   ~13-Hour Business Class Flight to New Zealand

Air New Zealand and United Airlines are part of the Star Alliance.  When my wife and I traveled to New Zealand,  I was able to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points from the Ink Business Preferred directly to United Airlines.  Then, book an Air New Zealand Business Class award flight.  That’s how I used the Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus!

Paying cash for this same flight would have cost ~$4,000!  So with the ~$100 in taxes and fees I paid for the award ticket, I figure the Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus saved me ~$3,900!

Admittedly, I got lucky at the time of this award booking.  Because Air New Zealand doesn’t release many award seats to partner airlines.  But the day I booked, I was able to get 4 Business Class award seats!

4.   Transcontinental United Airlines Business Class Flight

When I fly between Newark and Los Angeles, I like to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines to book a lie-flat Business Class seat.

When you’re able to find Saver-level award seats available, you can book a one-way Business Class ticket on the same route for as little as 32,500 United Airlines miles.  I’d rather use miles than pay $1,600+ for a similar ticket!
