Here’s my review of the card.
And, you can earn 75,000 Hilton points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of opening the American Express Hilton Honors card. This card has NO annual fee. (EXPIRED.)
Here’s my review. These are considered different card products. So you can earn the sign-up bonus from both!
Remember, American Express only allows folks to earn the bonus once, per person, per lifetime, on all its cards. So if you’ve had either card in the past, you can NOT earn the bonus from that specific card again.
5 Hilton Hotels That Make Fun Vacations With Friends
Hilton hotels include Conrad, Canopy, Curio, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations, Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, Tru, and Waldorf Astoria brand hotels. With ~4,600 hotels world-wide, Hilton is 1 of the largest hotel chains. So wherever you want to go, there’s a good chance Hilton has a hotel there.
I thought it’d be fun to find hotels for a friends vacation. But of course these ideas can work for traveling with a partner or family.
Note: The prices in this example are based on travel in June 2016.1. Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort
Head to Mexico and get free nights at the all-inclusive Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort. Meals at 4 restaurants, drinks at 2 bars, and poolside service are all included in the room rate. So are views of the nearby Sierra Madre mountains!
Folks on TripAdvisor have good things to say about the staff here.Room rates for 2 are ~$598 for a 2-night weekend stay. Or, you can pay 100,000 Hilton points instead!
You’ll have that many points once you meet the minimum spending requirements on the American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card.
Note that you’ll pay more points (or cash) because this hotel charges per person. And there’s a maximum of 4 people per room. Hilton says:
Rates for our all-inclusive hotel are based on the number of guests per room. This policy also applies to points redemption stays.
My example above is based on 2 guests. But if you want 3 or 4, the price goes up to 60,000 Hilton points per night. It’s worth noting if you travel with a group!
Considering all food and drinks are included, you’ll get even more value from your points at this hotel. And, if you and a friend both get the American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card, you can double up for a free 4-night stay!
2. Hampton Inn Tropicana
How about Las Vegas? You can get a 5-night stay at the Hampton Inn Tropicana with the 5th night free when you redeem 80,000 Hilton points. That’s plenty of time to see a show and try your luck at the slot machines!
You’ll be near the famous Las Vegas strip. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and you also get a swimming pool and free shuttle service from the airport.
Up to 4 adults can stay in 1 room (be sure to book the rate with 2 double beds).
Out-of-pocket, a 5-night stay would cost ~$722. But you’ll have enough Hilton points to cover your stay when you meet the minimum spending requirements on the American Express Hilton Honors card. That’s a great deal for a card with no annual fee!
3. Hilton Cabana Miami Beach
Head to Miami and enjoy a stay at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach with a friend. You’ll be near Collins Avenue, and famous South Beach. The hotel has beach access, 2 pools, and 2 bars where you can grab a cocktail.
A 2-night stay here costs ~$601 including a $25 a day resort fee. Or, you can redeem 100,000 Hilton points.
You’ll still have to pay the resort fee, but it includes 2 guaranteed lounge chairs, beach towels, and 10% off dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Your Hilton points will cover the rest of the cost for your stay!
If you book the rate with 2 queen size beds, 4 adults can stay in the same room.
This could be a fun splurge for a beach trip, complete with nightlife, drinks, and sun!
4. The Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa
If you like to ski, hike, or simply enjoy gorgeous mountain views, consider the The Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa.
It’s an excellent deal with Hilton points. And it’s located in central Whistler, next to the ski lifts.
In the summer, you can enjoy alpine day hikes near the hotel.
Two nights here in June cost ~$779 or 100,000 Hilton points. Again, you can earn that many with the American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card.
In this case, the current sign-up offer is worth nearly $800! And don’t forget, this card comes with Hilton Gold elite status, which gets you free breakfast and maybe even a room upgrade for your stay – fingers crossed!
This hotel has rooms with 2 double or 2 queen beds available, so up to 4 adults can stay in 1 room.
5. Hilton San Francisco Union Square
For some fun in the city, you and a friend could stay at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and be near the action.
It’s near Nob Hill and Chinatown, and in the center of the Theater District. You’ll have shopping, restaurants, and nightlife within easy walking distance.
A stay here might be part a bigger road trip to California Wine Country, or a drive up the scenic Pacific Coast Highway.
Two nights here cost ~$883 or 120,000 Hilton points.
A room here with 2 double beds can accommodate 4 adults.
You’ll have at least 109,000 Hilton points after completing the minimum spending requirements on the American Express Hilton Honors Surpass card. Or, you can get both AMEX Hilton cards and have more than enough points to cover a stay here – or any other hotel on this list!
Bottom Line
Hilton hotels are in most cities, and lots of places in between! It’s worth signing-up for 1 or both of the highest-ever offers on the AMEX Hilton and Hilton Surpass Cards. You’ll earn lots of Hilton points for a getaway – enough to bring a friend along and share a good time!Stay in popular places like San Francisco at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, or on the water at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach in Florida.
When you redeem your Hilton points, you can get a stay worth hundreds of dollars. That means more left over to spend on a nice meal, drinks, and fun with your partner in crime! 🙂
