Via View From the Wing, there is much improved offer for the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature® Card!

You’ll now earn 35,000 Cathay Pacific miles after spending $2,500 in the first 90 days of opening your account.  And the $95 annual fee is waived the first year if you apply before March 31, 2018!

I do NOT recommend this card if you’re new to the miles & points hobby.  Because there are credit cards with more valuable sign-up bonuses and benefits that you should open first.  But this card could be ideal for folks who have already applied for lots of cards and are looking to collect Cathay Pacific miles!

We don’t earn a commission on this card, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals. 🙂

You can now earn 35,000 Cathay Pacific miles with the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature card!  This is a 40% increase from the previous 25,000 mile bonus, but not the biggest bonus we’ve ever seen on the card.

To earn the  Cathay Pacific Visa Signature card’s bonus, you’ll need to spend $2,500 on purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account.

You’ll also get:

  • 2 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent with Cathay Pacific
  • 1.5 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent on dining
  • 1.5 Cathay Pacific miles per $1 spent on purchases outside the US
  • 1 Cathay Pacific mile per $1 spent on all other purchases made in the US
  • Complimentary Green membership to the Marco Polo Club for the first year of enrollment
  • NO foreign transaction fees

The $95 annual fee is waived the first year if you apply before March 31, 2018.

Is This a Good Deal?

Cathay Pacific uses a distance-based award chart.  So the price of an award flight depends on the distance you fly.

You could fly to the Caribbean on Cathay Pacific partner American Airlines for only 20,000 Cathay Pacific miles round-trip if the distance is between 601 and 1,200 miles!

Note:   One-way award flights on Cathay Pacific cost more than half of a round-trip award flight.  So you’ll get the best value for your miles if you book round-trip awards.

Cathay Pacific has Business and First Class seats that are hard to beat.  But you might be better off using different miles to book those awards.

There are lots of other ways to make the most of your Cathay Pacific miles and a few secret ways to book Cathay Pacific awards too!

Limited Time Increased Bonus On The Cathay Pacific Card
Cathay Pacific Has Some of the Nicest Business and First Class Seats in the World!

I do NOT recommend this card for folks new to the miles and points hobby.  That’s because there are better Chase credit cards you should open first.  And if you’ve opened 5+ cards from any bank (NOT counting Chase business cards and these other business cards) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for those more valuable cards.

If you already have a lot of cards from other banks and you’re collecting Cathay Pacific miles for an award, this could be a good deal for you.

Note:   If you need more Cathay Pacific miles for an award, American Express Membership Rewards pointsCiti ThankYou points, and Starwood points transfer to Cathay Pacific at a 1:1 ratio.

Bottom Line

For a limited time, the Cathay Pacific Visa Signature has an increased bonus of 35,000 Cathay Pacific miles after spending $2,500 on purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account.  That’s not the biggest bonus we’ve seen on the card.  But the $95 annual fee is also waived the first year if you apply before March 31, 2018!

This is NOT a good card for beginners because there are other cards with better sign-up bonuses!  But if you already have lots of credit cards with the major card issuers, this could be a good option for you.

Emily and I don’t get a commission for this card, but we’ll always tell you about good deals when we find them!
