You can stay free at lots of different Hilton hotels in Latin America. But for complimentary hot breakfast and Wi-Fi, I found the best deals at Hampton by Hilton and Embassy Suites hotels.
Remember, Hilton no longer has an award chart. This means you’ll have to check each hotel to see what a free night costs.

1. Hampton Inn & Suites San Juan
If you want to avoid a long drive from the airport to the beach, consider the Hampton Inn & Suites San Juan.
This hotel is just a ~5 minute drive from the airport. And it’s a short walk from Isla Verde beach.
Folks on TripAdvisor really like the location of this hotel. Because you can easily access the beach and nearby water sport activities, like jet-ski rentals. Or go out to watch live music in nearby resorts.
Award nights in August 2017 cost 35,000 Hilton points per night. Nightly rates at the same time are ~$115. But when you pay cash, you’ll also have to pay an 18% resort fee, which you do NOT pay when you redeem points.
2. Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo
Emily had a fun time celebrating her 30th birthday in Santo Domingo. If you want to visit the capital city of the Dominican Republic, you might consider using Hilton points at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo.This hotel ranks #3 in Santo Domingo based on TripAdvisor reviews. Folks say the complimentary breakfast is delicious with buffet options and made-to-order omelettes.
Keep in mind, the hotel is NOT within walking distance of the Colonial Zone. But you can still walk to popular nightclubs and local restaurants. So if you’re like Emily, you’ll be able to enjoy Latin dancing nearby!
And the hotel has an infinity pool, which overlooks the city.
Most award nights in August 2017 cost 30,000 Hilton points per night. That’ll save you $200 per night plus the taxes and fees required when you pay cash.
3. Hampton by Hilton Panama
You can really stretch your points with a stay at the Hampton by Hilton Panama where free nights require cost 10,000 Hilton points.

Besides the friendly staff and great location, folks on TripAdvisor like that the free breakfast alternates between American and Panamanian cuisine.
Using points for a free night saves you ~$100+.
4. Hampton Inn by Hilton Cancun Cumbres
If you’re traveling to Cancun and don’t want to stay at a resort style hotel, you might consider the Hampton Inn by Hilton Cancun Cumbres.
This hotel is a ~15 minute drive from the Cancun airport, which is a Southwest destination. And it’s a cheap taxi fare away from the Hotel Zone, which is home to the popular beaches and touristy areas.
Folks on TripAdvisor think this new hotel is perfect for a quick getaway to Cancun.
Award nights in August 2017 cost between 21,000 and 25,000 Hilton points. Booking an award stay saves you ~$115+ per night, which doesn’t include the extra taxes and fees you’ll pay.
5. Hampton Inn & Suites Los Cabos
Whether you’re planning a surf trip or family getaway, you could use Hilton points to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Los Cabos.
Based on TripAdvisor reviews, this hotel ranks #5 in all of San Jose del Cabo. It’s popular because you can scuba dive and kayak in Cabo Pulmo Marine Preserve, which is home to the only hard coral reef in the region.
And the simple rooftop pool gets high marks because of the beautiful views.
This hotel costs 15,000 Hilton points. If you don’t mind paying cash, nightly rates at this hotel are extremely cheap at ~$59 plus taxes & fees.
6. Hampton by Hilton Cartagena
If Colombia is on your bucket list, you can book an award stay at the Hampton by Hilton Cartagena.
This hotel is located in Bocagrande, which is the city’s popular hotel hub. And you’re walking distance to the Walled City, which is home to popular tourist attractions and beautiful architecture.
7. Hampton Inn & Suites Mexico City
In Mexico City, you can enjoy lots of historical and cultural attractions, including the Alameda Cathedral and the Palacio de Belles Artes (Palace of Fine Arts).
To stay near the downtown attractions, you can redeem Hilton points at the Hampton Inn & Suites Mexico City. Folks on TripAdvisor like the historical architecture of the hotel. And it’s just 2 blocks from the Zocalo, which is the main square in the city.
You’ll get a good deal using points because an award night cost only 10,000 Hilton points. Nightly rates are $140+ if you pay cash.
