Good news!  Via Points, Miles & Martinis, folks with the personal or business AMEX Platinum card can earn 7,500 bonus Hilton points when they stay 2+ nights at nearly any Hilton hotel.

To earn the bonus, you must register for the promotion and complete your qualifying stay by August 7, 2017.  Plus, you need to pay with your AMEX Platinum card.

Through August 7, 2017, you can earn 7,500 bonus Hilton points for a 2+ night stay at almost any Hilton hotel (excluding Hampton by Hilton hotels in Mainland China), when you register for the deal and pay with your AMEX Platinum card.

The personal and small business versions of the AMEX Platinum card qualify.  But you can only earn the bonus once.

In addition to signing-up for the promotion, you must ALSO enroll in free Hilton Gold status through your AMEX Platinum card.  Check out this post about registering your card for this great perk.

Is This a Good Deal?

If you already have a paid Hilton stay planned, this deal could be worth it.  But I wouldn’t go out of my way to take advantage of this promotion.

That said, this deal should stack with Hilton’s latest Go More Get More promotion.

And if your goal is to earn more Hilton points, folks with the AMEX Hilton Surpass card are better off using that card instead of the AMEX Platinum card, IF your stay costs $625+.  Because with the AMEX Hilton Surpass card, you’ll get 12 Hilton points per $1 you spend at Hilton.  And 12 Hilton points X $625 = 7,500 Hilton points.

So, for example, if you register for this deal and spend $900 on a 3-night stay in New York City, you’ll only earn 7,500 Hilton points for paying with your AMEX Platinum card.

But if you pay for your stay with the AMEX Hilton Surpass card, you’ll earn 10,800 Hilton points (12 Hilton points X $900) for your booking!

Keep in mind, other chains are offering good promotions too, like IHG Accelerate, the most recent Choice hotels offer, and the Best Western American Airlines deal.

There are lots of ways to earn Hilton points.  For example, you could sign-up for a Hilton co-branded credit card, like:

• Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve Card

Or, you can transfer other miles & points to Hilton.  AMEX Membership Rewards points, Virgin Atlantic miles, and Hawaiian Airlines miles transfer to Hilton at a ratio of 2:3.
