Given the current state of travel due to the coronavirus pandemic, lots of people are turning to domestic trips instead of flying to far-flung destinations. So we put together a list of Hyatt hotels at popular U.S. beaches, like those in California, Florida, and Hawaii.
These are hotels where you can use points from cards like World of Hyatt Credit Card for free nights. So you won’t be breaking the bank on your summer getaway.
5 Hyatt hotels near top U.S. beaches for award stays
Hyatt hotels include a variety of different brands, like Andaz, Hyatt, Hyatt Centric and Park Hyatt, to fit your travel style. Here’s a look at some of the best Hyatt beach properties in the U.S.
Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa
If surf and sand is your thing, you can’t beat the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa. This hotel has beachfront at one of the top surfing spots in the world, Surf City USA.
Rates here start at $360+ or 20,000 Hyatt points per night. That means you could get three award nights here with a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card.
The Sapphire Preferred offers 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. And those points can be transferred to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.
That’s a savings of at least $1,080 on a three-night stay — an incredible deal from just a single sign-up bonus.
You don’t have to stick to the beach because there are pools with waterslides for the kids (or kids at heart)! Reviewers give this hotel high marks for service and location. And, you’ll be in Orange County, so it’s easy driving distance to local culture and cafes if you decide to strike out.
Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa
Watch amazing, colorful sunsets at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa on the Gulf of Mexico. It’s located near Tampa, on a strip of beach along the water.
Nights here cost ~$400, or 25,000 Hyatt points per night.
If you redeem your Chase Ultimate Rewards points or Hyatt points for two nights here, you’ll save upwards of $800!
This hotel is ideal for family vacations because you’ll be near Busch Gardens and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for fun day trips. And there’s also a Camp Hyatt with day-long supervised activities for the little ones.
Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami
For beach lovers who want to be near nightlife and shopping, the Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami is hard to top. This hotel has only been open since 2015, and reviewers love how modern and cozy it is.
When I checked, rooms were $360+ a night, or 20,000 Hyatt points.
So you’d save $1,000 toward travel and earn 60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned from opening a new Chase Sapphire Preferred after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.
Not only will you be steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, but you’ll be on Collins Avenue and near Lincoln Road for nightlife, culture, and people-watching!
Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa
If you want a romantic getaway, consider the Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa. It’s located near the southernmost point in the continental U.S. on the Gulf of Mexico.
Rates are can easily run over $500 or you’ll spend 25,000 Hyatt points per night. You can save a lot of money if you redeem your points for award nights here!
Reviewers say great things about the staff and location of this hotel. You can swim in the pool or head to the nearby beaches to swim in the warm Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, grab a tropical cocktail or a piece of Key Lime Pie to celebrate your vacation.
Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort
Nights at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort are $590+ or 25,000 Hyatt points per night. So 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points or Hyatt points are worth almost $1,180 for two nights in Hawaii.
There are four swimming pools to enjoy and plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy, like canoeing, guided kayak tours, and surf lessons.
Considering temperatures here can be in the 80s year-round, some folks might consider this hotel for a winter warm-up. It’s also perfect for a romantic getaway or honeymoon!
Bonus Beach – Park Hyatt Chicago
Chicago probably isn’t a place you’d think of for a beach vacation. But the Windy City has over 25 beaches along the shores of Lake Michigan and summer weather in Chicago is perfect for getting a tan. And, there is plenty of sand to stretch out.
The Park Hyatt Chicago is near popular Oak Street Beach in Chicago’s upscale Gold Coast neighborhood and can cost $400+ or 25,000 Hyatt points per night.
Because Lake Michigan is a freshwater lake, there’s no salt, and the water is cool and refreshing. Reviewers have great things to say about the views, location, and service here.
Be sure to take advantage of everything Chicago has to offer! You’ll be on the Magnificent Mile, surrounded by shops, cafes, and museums. Grab a slice of deep-dish Chicago-style pizza.
Earn more Hyatt points
You could consider opening the World of Hyatt Credit Card and earn up to 60,000 Hyatt points after meeting tiered minimum spending requirements. You’ll earn:
- 30,000 Bonus Points after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening.

If you unlock the full bonus, you’ll have enough Hyatt points for two nights at a luxury Hyatt resort like the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. Be sure to read our full review of the World of Hyatt card here.
You can also earn Hyatt points indirectly by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt. If you have one of these cards you can transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, in increments of 1,000 points:

You’ll usually get a better deal redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards points with airline partners, but Hyatt is the exception. That’s because Hyatt has a generous award chart, and award rooms start at just 5,000 Hyatt points per night. Some of the MMS team’s biggest travel awards have been for Hyatt stays.
Bottom line
There are lots of beautiful Hyatt hotels near top U.S. beaches where you can get free travel when you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt. Or use the up to 60,000 Hyatt points you’ll earn after you meet the minimum spending on the World of Hyatt Credit Card.
