Paying for in-flight Wi-Fi with certain airlines can be expensive.

That’s why I’m excited to have 10 free Gogo in-flight Wi-Fi passes each year with The Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN.

This perk can be a great way to save money!  And it’s an exclusive benefit of the Business Platinum card.  It’s not available for folks with the personal AMEX Platinum.

Many large airlines use Gogo for their in-flight internet.

Big Airlines Like American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta, and United Airlines Use Gogo for Their In-Flight Wi-Fi

So having 10 free Gogo in-flight Wi-Fi passes each year from the Business Platinum card can be a great way to save money and help you stay connected while flying.

Because purchasing a Gogo Wi-Fi pass during your flight can be expensive.

For example, Million Mile Secrets team member Keith recently took a Delta flight from Los Angeles to Nashville where an in-flight Wi-Fi pass cost ~$22.  Instead, he used a free Gogo Wi-Fi pass from the Business Platinum card.

If you fly often and use all 10 passes, this perk can easily be worth $200!

For folks without the Business Platinum card, remember pre-purchasing a Gogo Wi-Fi pass can save you money for in-flight internet!

If you have the Business Platinum card, here’s how you can get your 10 free Gogo Wi-Fi passes.

  1. Is this benefit per CALENDAR year or per cardmember year or…???

  2. FYI… this perk is currently “broken”, at least for some cardmembers. All of the passes I loaded in when I got the card in December expired on December 31st. When I tried to re-load in early January, a message came up saying that the passes had already been loaded. Gogo acknowleged that they have been having an issue with this (the passes weren’t supposed to expire). The workaround is to do a chat with Gogo and they will issue temporary free codes while they work on fixing the issue.

  3. Heads up – we recently flew AA in J from LAX to LHR and wifi access was on the Panasonic network, not Gogo. Same happened on the way back. I didn’t want to pay $22 for Panasonic access on my flight so couldn’t check email. Does AA no longer use Gogo as their wifi network??

    • I had the same experience today on a flight from Dallas to Honolulu. Those GoGo passes are much less of a “perk” to me now, as American Airlines has ditched Gogo for Panasonic and ViaSat. 90% of my flights are on American . . . .
