Using points for your hotel stay is a great way to save money on vacation! But sometimes you want to stay at a boutique hotel or save your points for another trip.
Plus, you can make this deal even better by combining it with other discounts.
What’s the 4th Night Free Perk?
Link: Citi Prestige – 50,000 Citi ThankYou Points
Citi Prestige cardholders who book 4 or more nights at a hotel through the Citi Prestige Concierge can get the 4th night free!
For example, I did a search for the top-rated all-inclusive Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, in February and found almost the same price on Aspire Lifestyle (Citi’s travel agency) and Expedia.
Here’s how to get the 4th night free:
- Make Sure You’re Getting the Best Deal – Before you begin booking your stay, research your options and compare prices.
- Call the Citi Prestige Concierge – Call 877-288-2484 and they’ll connect you to the concierge who will take down your budget, travel dates, desired hotel, etc.
- Book Your Stay – Citi will email you (usually within 24 hours) with hotel options and rates. If you’re happy with the price make your reservation.
- Earn the Credit – Pay with your Citi Prestige card at the end of your stay and you should receive a statement credit for the cost of your 4th night within 1 to 2 billing cycles.
How You Can Save Even More!
What’s great about getting the 4th night free is you can save even more by combining it with other deals!
Here are easy ways you can add on to your savings!
1. Special Rates
Citi also has access to special rates including AARP, AAA, and military discounts. So if you’re eligible, look into these prices when you do your research and ask for them when you call.
For example, I found the same price for the Hilton Garden Inn West 35th Street in New York City on the Hyatt site.
Plus, you can ask Citi to add the AARP rate (anyone can join for ~$16!) to your reservation.
And you get the 4th night free with your Citi Prestige card! So you’ll save a total of ~$215 on your stay (~$108 AARP rate + ~$107 4th night free)!
2. Status Perks
3. Earn Hotel Points
If you’re staying a major hotel chain, you can add your account number to your reservation. You’ll still earn hotel points, stay credits, and elite status perks.
4. Hotel Sales & Promotions
Some hotels have their own promotions which you can combine with the 4th night free.
For example, folks have successfully booked a hotel that was offering the 5th night free through Citi and got the 4th night free with their Citi Prestige card.
Note: You’ll get the best deal if you try to arrange your stay so the most expensive night is your 4th night. That’s because Citi Prestige will reimburse you for the actual cost of your 4th night, NOT the average cost of 4 nights.
One of the many perks you get with the Citi Prestige card is the 4th night free on hotel stays booked through the Citi concierge. In fact, I think this is 1 of the 10 best travel deals!
And you can combine Prestige’s 4th night free with special rates like AAA & AARP, status perks, hotel rewards, and hotel promotions for Big Savings!
I still prefer to use points for free hotel stays. But when you want to save your points for another more expensive stay, this is a great way to save! And Prestige’s 4th night free works well at non-chain hotels, especially pricey all-inclusive resorts.
Let me know in the comments if you come up with other ways to get the most out of the Citi Prestige 4th night free benefit!
