Via View From the Wing, American Express will release a new no annual fee Delta credit card tomorrow, September 7, 2017.
The Blue Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express will come with 10,000 Delta miles after you spend $500 in purchases within 3 months of account opening. And even has a decent rewards earning rate!
New No Annual Fee AMEX Delta Credit Card
I love when banks issue new credit cards. Because it gives us more options for earning miles & points and promotes more competition among credit card issuers.
- 2 Delta miles per $1 at US restaurants
- 2 Delta miles per $1 with Delta
- 1 Delta mile everywhere else
- 20% off eligible in-flight Delta purchases
- NO annual fee
- Terms Apply
Is This a Good Deal?
This is NOT a good card for folks new to miles & points. Because there are other cards that offer bigger sign-up bonuses and earn more flexible points.
However, if you’ve already applied for lots of cards, applying for this card is a good way to earn more Delta miles. Because American Express only allows folks to earn the sign-up bonus on each card once per lifetime, if you’ve already applied for other AMEX Delta credit cards, you can still earn the Blue Delta SkyMiles card sign-up bonus!
This card also earns 2X Delta miles at US restaurants (more than any other Delta credit card). So if you spend a lot on dining, this card is the fastest way to earn Delta miles.
Just note that this card does NOT come with valuable perks like free checked bags or priority boarding. And it might also charge foreign transaction fees.
But it might be a good option for folks who are above the Chase 5/24 rule and who have already for other AMEX Delta credit cards. Plus, keeping a no-annual-fee card like this in your wallet can eventually boost your credit score.
The no-annual-fee Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card (available tomorrow, September 7, 2017) will come with 10,000 Delta miles after spending $500 within 3 months of account opening. You’ll also earn 2X Delta miles per $1 at US restaurants and purchases made with Delta. And 1X Delta miles per $1 on everything else.
