Signing up for credit cards through partner links earns us a commission. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Here’s our full advertising policy: How we make money.
Update: One or more card offers in this post are no longer available. Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.1. Get a $20 Staples Gift Card When You Purchase $300+ in AMEX Gift Cards
Link: SimplyCash® Business Card from American Express
Via Travel With Grant, you’ll earn a $20 Staples rebate gift card when you buy $300+ worth of AMEX gift cards. AMEX gift cards can only be purchased in-store.
The offer is good from through September 5, 2015.
Remember you can NOT use AMEX gift cards to load Bluebird or Serve. But if you have a friend who shops at Costco and pays cash, you could swap. Or use the gift card anywhere AMEX is accepted.
You can only use the $20 Staples rebate card at Staples (in-store or online). You can’t use them to buy other gift cards, but $20 would get you a lot of free chocolate and candy (if you have a sweet tooth like me!). Or you can sell them online.
Folks like to buy AMEX gift cards to meet minimum spending requirements to earn sign-up bonuses on credit cards. Because they can earn bonus points faster, and keep the AMEX gift cards to spend any time.
You’ll also earn bonus points at office supply stores with AMEX SimplyCash, which earns 5% cash back at US office supply stores.
Be sure to read about how to use Staples rebates!
2. 2,000 American Airlines Miles When You Buy ~$15 Worth of Magazines

Via View From the Wing, you can earn 2,000 American Airlines miles when you sign-up for a NextIssue subscription and pay for 1 month of service (~$15.)

You’ll only earn the bonus miles when you select a paid premium plan and keep it for at least a month (after the free 30-day trial period).
Be sure to cancel if you won’t want to continue the service. If you have ~$15 remaining on a gift card, you could use it to make sure you’re not charged a 2nd time before you cancel. This is a good way to earn 2,000 American Airlines miles. You’ll prevent your miles from expiring, and get to read your favorite magazines for a couple of months!

My friend Nomadic Matt wrote a wonderful article about the privilege of travel. It goes hand-in-hand with with the philosophy of FLYTE, which aims to help young people study abroad.
Matt says:
If you are a teacher in a low-income or rural high school, I want to talk to you about funding an overseas educational trip for all your students! Please email me at [email protected] with the subject line “Teacher Application”.
Be sure to check out the FLYTE website, and reach out to Nomadic Matt for more information!
