4.   Changes to ITA Matrix

Via TravelCodex, ITA Matrix has made a few changes.

For starters, the site has gone through a cosmetic update.

ITA Matrix Has a New and Improved Look. ♫ I Feel Prettyyy, Oh So Prettyyy♫

You can also easily search by price-per-mile.  Some other not-so-good changes include:

  • Slower search speed
  • Limited to a 150 mile radius when you search for nearby airports that must be individually selected

However, in general the site remains largely the same.  Check out my series on ITA Matrix for all my tips on how to use this site to find cheap flights.

Darn. I recently received my new Southwest card (I’d had one in the past, until I independently discovered how much better the Sapphire card was and canceled it about a year ago; it’s totally your fault I got one again, though, as I’m now attemping to acquire a companion pass next year). More Southwest points are never bad, though it appears it would probably qualify as companion-earning points, which would be even better – fewer Sapphire points we’d have to redeem to Southwest points at 2-to-1. Unfortunately, “We are unable to register you for this promotion”, is what it says when I try to register. Too bad.
