More good news for folks who collect Hilton points!  There’s now a better offer for the Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card card!

You’ll earn 75,000 Hilton points after meeting the minimum spending requirements.  And there’s NO annual fee.

That’s enough for a night at a luxury hotel.  Or stretch your points for more nights at a lower-category Hilton locations!

Let’s see where you can go with this offer!

What’s the Deal?

You’ll earn 75,000 Hilton points when you spend $2,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of opening the Citi Hilton HHonors card.

This offer was available last year, and it’s the highest bonus I’ve seen for this card.  You’ll also get:

  • 6 Hilton points for every $1 you spend at Hilton hotels
  • 3 Hilton points for every $1 you spend at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations
  • 2 Hilton points for every $1 you spend on everything else
  • NO annual fee
  • Free Hilton Silver elite status (late check-out, 2 free bottles of water, and 15% points bonus on Hilton points earned)
  • Free Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast at some locations) after staying 4 times at Hilton in the 1st 90 days of account opening, or after spending $20,000 on purchases in a calendar year
  • 10,000 Hilton points at the end of a calendar year when you spend $1,000 or more at Hilton hotels

Note:   The minimum spending on this card is higher (and in a shorter timeframe) than the most recent offer, which was for 60,000 Hilton points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the 1st 4 months.

75,000 Hilton Points Is More Than Enough for a Night at the El Conquistador Waldorf Astoria Resort in Puerto Rico

This is a terrific deal for a card that has NO annual fee.  You can keep it forever and potentially boost your credit score.

However, it has a 3% foreign transaction fee, so it’s NOT a good card to use when you travel abroad.

Hilton hotels include Conrad, Canopy, Curio, DoubleTreeEmbassy SuitesHampton InnHiltonHilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations, Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, Tru, and Waldorf Astoria brand hotels.

This is a Citi card, so you’re eligible for Citi Price Rewind, which refunds you money when prices go down on certain items you’ve bought.

If you recently received a lower bonus on this card, it’s worth calling Citi to see if they’ll match you to the better bonus!

Should You Consider This Card?

If you collect Hilton points and like cards with no annual fee, this is an excellent deal.

I like that this card comes with automatic Hilton Silver elite status, which gets you a 15% points bonus on Hilton hotel stays.

Plus you’ll earn 6X Hilton points when you use the card to pay for your stay.  But this is NOT the card that earns the most points for Hilton stays.

And if you spend $20,000 on purchases in a calendar year, you’ll earn Hilton Gold elite status, which gets you free breakfast at certain Hilton hotels, and upgrades if they’re available.

There’s also an improved offer for the Hilton Honors™ Card from American Express card which earns 70,000 Hilton points after meeting minimum spending.  And it also has no annual fee.

You can get both cards because they’re different card products.

That said, my favorite Hilton card is still the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve, because you earn 2 weekend nights at almost any Hilton after completing the minimum spending requirements.  And it comes with automatic Hilton Gold elite status.

Remember, Citi only allows 1 credit card application per day, and will approve NO more than 2 personal credit cards within 65 days.  You must also wait ~8 days between applications.

If you’ve already earned the bonus on this card, you must wait 18 months after you’ve opened or closed it to earn it again.

Here’s how to decide which Hilton card is right for you.  And check out my post on all the ways to earn Hilton points!

Once you complete the minimum spending requirements on the Citi Hilton HHonors card, you’ll receive the bonus points in your Hilton account.  As long as you complete the minimum spending ~5 to ~7 days before your account closes for the month, you’ll receive the points at the end of the billing cycle.

75,000 Hilton points is enough for 15 award nights at a Hilton Category 1 hotels (5,000 Hilton points per night).

And it’s almost enough for 8 award nights at Hilton Category 2 (10,000 Hilton points per night) hotels!

Bottom Line

You can now earn 75,000 Hilton points after spending $2,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of opening a Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature account.

That’s the best bonus I’ve seen for this card.  And it’s a terrific deal for a card with NO annual fee.

@zach – It doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong. I’d try to call Citi back and see if they can give you some insight:

@Jenna – Fingers crossed! Let us know what they say!

@Raymond L @Lynn @Chris – Lynn is correct. That’s what the terms & conditions on the card say. If it’s been over 18 months, you should be able to apply again.

@Allen – In the past, it’s been around for about a month. So I think you have some time to get your new card in the mail. The agent was right – you can combine your accounts, and the points will roll over. But you could also wait to get your Hilton loyalty number, too.

Welcome to miles and points! Here’s my getting started guide:

@james kunz – They haven’t said. But in the past, it’s been around for at least a month.

Does anyone have any idea how long this card will be at the higher bonus? I want it but have to wait until more inquiries fall off my report. :/

I just got approved for the AMEX 70k points one yesterday and considering this as well since not all stores around me take AMEX. I am waiting for the AMEX HHonors card to come in first to get my HHonors Member number so I don’t have to call and try to link accounts (jut got off the phone with rep and he said I would have to call and linked them together and one account will be inactive but points that come in through this [Citi VISA] card would roll over to my main account). How long do you think this offer will last? I just started collecting points so all this is very new to me.

Is this card still churnable; meaning I can have several accounts of this same card open?

Do not close your first one, just apply for another one. Needs to be opened or closed 18 months.
