Do you have airline, hotel, or rental car elite status? If so, you probably qualify for a status match with Sixt Rent a Car.
I’ll tell you about Sixt Platinum status, and show you how to get it!
Is Sixt Elite Status Worth Your Time?
Sixt gives Platinum status to folks who rent more than 10 times per year. But right now, Sixt will give you top tier Platinum status just for holding similar elite status with another loyalty program!
To get the status match, sign-up for their rewards card and give them your information and proof of status with an airline, hotel, or car rental program.
With Sixt Platinum status, you’ll get:
- Up to a 15% savings on Sixt rent a car / rent a truck with a complimentary Platinum Sixt Card
- Preferred reservation priority and the convenience of special counters / parking lots at select airports / stations
- Complimentary upgrade worldwide (double upgrade within US) to the next higher car group (subject to availability)
- Complimentary 92 miles additional mileage for Sixt luxury cars
- Complimentary car seat upon request, based on availability at location the day of rental pickup
Luxury cards, free upgrades, and priority service are great! But if your main concern is saving money when you rent a car, there are better ways to book.
There are LOTS of ways to get big discounts on car rentals, like booking through Hotwire or the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal. Or tracking your rental with AutoSlash, a free service that monitors your car rental reservations for price drops, and re-books you if they find a lower price.

And if you have the The Platinum Card® from American Express, you can call to be upgraded to Starwood Gold status.Note: You can also get complimentary elite status with Sixt and 2 other rental car agencies if you have a World Elite MasterCard, like the Citi Prestige card.
And remember to rent with a credit card that gives you primary rental car insurance, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ritz-Carlton. Or a card that earns bonus points, like the Citi Prestige Card.
Bottom LineSixt Rent a Car is offering an upgrade to Platinum status when you sign-up for their program and show proof of similar elite status with another loyalty program.
Sixt Platinum status comes with perks like free upgrades (double upgrades in the US), discounts, and priority reservations.
