Update: One or more card offers in this post are no longer available. Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers. The Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business comes with an unprecedented welcome bonus of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND Capital One miles.
That’s bigger than any bonus we’ve ever seen. EVER. It’s worth at least $2,000 in travel. And it ends January 28, 2019.
But one glance at the spending requirement to achieve that bonus, and most people immediately trash the idea of opening the card. After all, you’ll have to put $50,000 in spending on the card within the first 6 months.
FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS in 6 months?? It would take me 4 years to spend that much on my credit card! But an easy thing to forget is that this card has TWO sign-up bonuses. And the alternate is much, much easier to achieve.
Why You Should Ponder the Capital One Spark Miles Card Even If You Can’t Earn the 200,000 Capital One Miles
Many travel credit cards have something called a “tiered minimum spending requirement.” That means you have multiple incentives for meeting multiple amounts of spending.
With the Capital One Spark Miles, you’ll receive:
- 50,000 miles after spending $5,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening
- Another 150,000 miles after you spend a total of $50,000 within the first 6 months of account opening
For everyone else with more normal spending habits, it’s easy to dismiss the card altogether. But remember you can still earn 50,000 Capital One miles ($500 in travel) by spending just $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening the card.
That’s huge!! It’s the same size bonus as the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (which Million Mile Secrets readers love). It just sounds less impressive because you’re getting 150,000 miles less than the highest bonus.
Earning $500 in free travel is an extremely solid deal. And redeeming the miles is easier than any other miles & points currency in existence. Check out the smartest ways to use Capital One miles here. And how to transfer miles to airlines here.
What’s your plan before this 200,000 mile bonus ends on January 28, 2019?
