Via Doctor of Credit, Barclaycard will launch an Uber credit card this fall. It’ll earn bonus points for spending on Uber rides. And we’re hoping it comes with a decent sign-up bonus, too!
Depending on the sign-up bonus and how frequently you use Uber, this new card could be worth considering. But it’s NOT the best card for folks new to miles & points. And I’ll explain why!

Barclaycard hasn’t shared many details. But here’s what we know so far!
New Barclaycard Uber Card
This fall, Barclaycard will launch a new Uber credit card.
This could be good news for folks who spend a lot on Uber, because the card will earn bonus points for Uber rides. And the sign-up bonus will likely be a credit for Uber purchases.
It’s also rumored that the card will comes with perks like:
- 2x points for spending in certain categories (like groceries and restaurants)
- 1x points on all other purchases
- No annual fee
That said, if you’re new to miles & points, applying for this card isn’t worth it.

I recommend getting any Chase credit cards before you sign-up for cards from other banks. Because Chase has some of the most valuable credit cards for getting Big Travel with Small Money! And their strict application rules mean you won’t be approved for many of them if you apply for other cards first.
Plus, there are other cards that earn bonuses or offer credits for Uber rides.
Earn Miles & Points for Uber Rides
For example, you’ll earn bonus points for Uber rides with cards like the:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2X Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent on travel)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve (3X Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent on travel)
- Citi Premier Card (3X Citi ThankYou Points per $1 spent on travel)
And remember, folks with The Platinum Card® from American Express get up to $200 a year in Uber credits.
Bottom Line
Barclaycard will launch a new Uber credit card this fall.
The card will earn bonus points for Uber rides, but the sign-up bonus hasn’t yet been revealed.
If you spend a lot on Uber, it might be worth considering. But don’t forget, there are other (more flexible!) cards that earn bonus points for Uber rides, too. Like the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Citi Premier.
Plus, this is NOT a great card for folks new to miles & points. Because with Chase’s stricter application rules, I always recommend getting any Chase cards you want first.
