I suggest taking care of this before you’re in line at your local Starbucks!  In the past, team member Jason had trouble setting up Chase Pay on his phone and had to make a call to Chase to get it sorted out.

Once you’ve downloaded the Chase Pay app and logged into your account, you should see the Starbucks offer listed.  Click on the offer and you’ll be brought to this page:

Update to 4/10 post-

Turns out this deal is only beneficial to those who are already Gold status ( would have been nice to know this up front ). I did indeed earn and was awarded 300 stars but they were immediately used to upgrade me to Gold and the star count reset to 0 in the process. Since I’m not a frequent customer of Starbucks no free coffee for me. While the Starbucks customer service rep was very nice and helpful in explaining the process they offered no kind of fix or “have some stars on us” kind of solution.

Million Mile Secrets

Yeah that was a bummer. Free Gold status isn’t nearly as good as 2 free drinks. 🙁

Followed instructions to the T and got conformation that I had indeed earned 300 stars but I have yet to see them on my Starbucks card all that has happened is that since I have “earned” 300 stars I have been upgraded to Gold status. I’d much rather enjoy 2 free coffees… kind of sneaky…

Million Mile Secrets

Agreed! Team members at Million Mile Secrets were also disappointed to find out that the Starpoints they earned were automatically applied to purchasing Gold status instead of being able to be used for free items. 🙁

I have done as instructed and even purchased a cup of coffee on two different days via the app since activation.

I’ve read reports of people being notified that stars were on their way after purchase, but my app still only tells me “offer activated”.

Does anyone have any idea what my app notification should look like after following instructions and availing of offer?

Thanks.

Million Mile Secrets

Hmmm…not sure what’s going on. If Chase Pay was accepted at the Starbucks than you should be good to go. If the charges are showing up in your Chase Pay app, then worst case scenario, you could message Chase about your issue.

I just had to be patient. I did a bit of research and others said they only got their stars after their SB charge went from pending to a complete transaction. This is what happened to me.

I guess a lot of people are so used to receiving their rewards within 24 hours of purchase, a wait of 4 to 5 days made everyone doubtful.
