Free Premium Drinks at Delta Sky Club Lounges Until December 31, 2016

One of the great things about airport lounge access is the free amenities, like complimentary Wi-Fi, snacks, and alcohol.  There are often plenty of free alcoholic beverages to choose from.  But if you want the “good stuff”, you’ll have to pay!

Delta is sweetening their lounge experience this holiday season by offering 2 premium drinks for free to folks who have a Delta American Express card!  This offer is good through December 31, 2016.  Cards that will qualify for this promotion include:

• Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express
• Platinum Delta SkyMiles^® Credit Card from American Express
• Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express
• Gold Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card from American Express
• Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card from American Express

Plus, you’ll get 2 free premium drinks for each Delta AMEX card you have with you!  So if you’re anticipating extra-stressful holiday travel, you might want to carry all your Delta credit cards.

That said, your Delta Sky Club bartender might not let you pick any alcohol you want.  If this promotion has the same Terms & Conditions as Delta’s similar promotion back in June, there will still be restrictions on which premium alcohol you can choose.

Note:   Folks report that Delta does NOT swipe your credit card when you take advantage of this deal.  So you’ll be able to use it multiple days at different Delta Sky Club lounges!

Which Cards Give You Access to Delta Sky Club?

This promotion will give you 2 free premium alcoholic drinks inside Delta Sky Club lounges.  But you’ll still need to get in!

You’ll need one of the following cards to enter a Delta Sky Club lounge for free:

• Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express
• The Platinum Card® from American Express – You must have a valid boarding pass for same day travel on Delta
• The Business Platinum® Card from American Express – You must have a valid boarding pass for same day travel on Delta
• The Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Mercedes-Benz – You must have a valid boarding pass for same day travel on Delta

You can also purchase a Delta Sky Club membership for $450, or 70,000 Delta miles, per year.  Or you can buy a single-day pass at the Delta Sky Club lounge desk for $59.  But I would NOT recommend either of these just to take advantage of this promotion!!

Bottom Line

Through December 31, 2016, you can get 2 free premium alcoholic drinks at a Delta Sky Club lounge for each Delta AMEX credit card you have!  Just show your card to the bartender, and you’ll be able to choose higher-shelf wines and spirits!  Though you’ll still likely be limited to what you can order.

You can use cards like the AMEX Platinum (if you have a same-day Delta boarding pass) or AMEX Delta Reserve cards to gain access to a Delta Sky Club lounge, and use cards like the AMEX Delta Gold or the AMEX Delta Platinum Business cards to claim your free drinks.
