Can you name all 15 Hyatt brands? If not, you may be missing out on ways to use your Hyatt points.
Hyatt points are easy to earn, especially because you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. That means you can earn Hyatt points with The World Of Hyatt Credit Card and indirectly earn them with great cards like the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card and the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.
With nearly 850 hotels around the world, you’ve got a lot of options when it comes to using Hyatt points. Here’s more about each of the different Hyatt brands.
The information for the Ink Business Preferred card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Like other hotels, Hyatt categorizes its hotels by brand to market to various types of travelers.
Currently, there are 15 Hyatt brands:

This new brand (introduces in late 2019) intends to “bring people closer together, allowing them to work, eat or socialize in comfortable, flexible, communal spaces that encourage meaningful conversations and connections.” None of these hotels are open just yet, but we’ll let you know when we have more information.
Thompson Hotels is another recent addition to Hyatt’s portfolio and consists of 10 boutique properties in the US. You’ll find the upscale hotels in popular vacation destinations like Cabo San Lucas, Seattle, Chicago and New York City.
Hyatt Centric properties are designed with millennials in mind. For this reason, many of the properties are located in popular tourist destinations and in spots known for great nightlife.
Park Hyatt hotels are Hyatt’s top-tier, luxury properties. There are only 47 Park Hyatt hotels worldwide (the majority of which are in Asia), but you can find them in sought-after destinations like Sydney, Buenos Aires and Paris.
Miraval properties are described as luxury wellness resorts – and that they are. Currently, you’ll only find Miraval locations in Tuscon, Arizona, and Austin, Texas. Another resort is opening in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts in 2020.
Grand Hyatt hotels are luxury properties located in more than 50 spots around the world. Most are in large cities, like San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, Athens and Dubai. This brand is known for luxury spas and fine dining experiences.
The Hyatt Regency brand is targeted to business and leisure travelers with about 200 locations worldwide (half of which are in the US). You’ll find Hyatt Regency hotels in cities and in resort areas offering multiple restaurant options and a more upscale vibe, compared to the regular Hyatt brand.
Hyatt Zilara/Hyatt Ziva
Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara are Hyatt’s all-inclusive brands. If you’re into all-you-can-drink Mai Tais and never-ending seafood buffets, these brands are for you.
Million Mile Secrets team member Scott daydreams about the relaxing time he enjoyed at the all-inclusive Hyatt Zilara Cancun. In fact, he’s been there a few times. I spent two nights at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta and appreciated the kid-friendly activities they had at the pool.
Hyatt Place is Hyatt’s most prolific brand, with 325+ locations around the world. Hyatt Place hotels are mid-tier properties, known for their large rooms and free hot-breakfast offerings.
I’ve stayed numerous times at the Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown as well as in other locations like Salt Lake City, Utah, and Charleston, South Carolina. I find they’re usually in convenient locations and are extremely family-friendly.
The Hyatt House brand is similar to that of Hyatt Place, but they’re marketed as extended-stay hotels. Hyatt House hotels are all-suite hotels and offer full kitchens and on-site laundry facilities. They’re also pet-friendly and provide free hot breakfast for guests.
The Unbound Collection by Hyatt
The Unbound Collection is another one of Hyatt’s luxury brands. There are only 19 locations around the world, and you’ll certainly get a boutique hotel experience staying at any of these properties.
Eight Destination Hotels in the US, all high-end, luxury properties, will be joining World of Hyatt in the coming months. More properties are expected to be added in the future.
Joie de Vivre
Eighteen of Hyatt’s 19 Joie de Vivre locations are in the US (12 in California). According to Hyatt, this brand offers “unique accommodations that reflect the vibrant neighborhoods that they’re located in.”

Because of the Chase 5/24 rule, if you’ve opened 5+ cards from any bank (not counting Chase business cards and business cards from most other banks) in the past 24 months, you won’t be approved for any of the above cards.
Hyatt has 15 hotel brands, each with a different style, to cater to various types of travelers.
If you’re looking for a luxury experience, consider the top-tier brands like Alila and Park Hyatt. Or if you’re traveling with family and looking for something more low key, book a stay at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House.
Running short on Hyatt points? You can earn more from a card like The World Of Hyatt Credit Card. Or earn Chase Ultimate Rewards with cards like Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card or Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, and transfer them to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.
