Last week I told you about upcoming changes to The Platinum Card® from American Express.
I’ll tell you about the new improvements coming to the AMEX Business Platinum!
Positive Changes Coming to the AMEX Business PlatinumAMEX announced changes to the AMEX Platinum card, which begin on March 30, 2017. Some were good (like a $200 yearly Uber credit), and some were bad (like a higher annual fee).
And now we’ve learned that AMEX will be making changes to the business version of the card on March 30, 2017, too!
1. Earn 5X Points Through AMEX Travel
When you book your airfare or hotels through the AMEX Travel Portal, you’ll get 5 AMEX Membership Rewards points per $1. This is especially good for airfare, because the AMEX Travel portal usually has competitive prices.
But booking hotels through the AMEX Travel Portal is a bit more complicated. That’s because hotels give folks a lot of incentive to book DIRECTLY through the hotel website.
For example, you won’t earn hotel points or elite status credits through AMEX Travel. And you might not have your elite status recognized at all during your stay! So this deal is best for folks who are staying at boutique hotels instead of major chains like Starwood and Hilton.
2. Priority Pass Guest Privileges
You will now be able to take 2 guests into any Priority Pass lounge, free of charge! Guests used to cost $27 per person, but that fee is now waived for your first 2 guests.
And, unlike the personal version of the card, AMEX will NOT raise the annual fee along with these improvements.
AMEX is making positive changes to the AMEX Business Platinum card. You’ll earn 5X points when you book airfare and hotels through the AMEX Travel Portal. And you can take 2 guests into any Priority Pass lounge for free!
I love seeing AMEX making improvements to their cards to keep up with other cards, like the Chase Ink Business Preferred,
