A couple months ago I told you about Hyatt’s intent to partner with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which would give us 500 more hotels worldwide to use with our Hyatt points.
That’s not all! Hyatt has now stated that they plan to acquire 87 luxury hotels by the end of 2019! They’re scooping up a hotel chain called Two Roads Hospitality.
This is fantastic news for Hyatt fans. Hyatt isn’t nearly as big as other hotel chains, like Marriott, Hilton, or IHG. So you have much fewer options for using your points. But with this latest acquisition, you can redeem Hyatt points for free stays in cities that previously had NO Hyatt hotels.
Two Roads Hospitality owns brands like Alila, Destination Hotels, Joie De Vivre, Thompson, and Tommie. And because Hyatt is buying these hotels (not partnering), you can both earn and redeem points for staying there beginning sometime in 2019. We obviously don’t know how many points these hotels will cost, but we’ll let you know when there’s an update!
Hyatt points are easy to earn. So if any of these new hotels look enticing, a free night shouldn’t be a problem.
Let us know if you’ve had experience with Two Roads Hospitality brands!
