Hyatt Cardholders! Don’t Forget to Check Your Chase Visa Offers to Save on Everyday Purchases

Jasmin:   Running a household with 3 growing kids ain’t cheap, so I’m all about clipping coupons and taking advantage of money-saving deals like AMEX Offers.  These are automatic discounts or bonus points you’ll earn by registering your card and spending at certain merchants, and over the years I’ve saved hundreds of dollars on purchases I would have made anyway.

So I kicked myself for nearly forgetting that Chase now offers a similar program.  With the current Chase Visa Offers, you can save money on purchases at popular retailers like Lowe’s, Boxed, Etsy, and more.

For this round of offers, you’ll need to have The Hyatt Credit Card.  I’ve held the card for ~5 years now (well worth it for the perks!), so I decided to see if I could save a bit of money with these deals.

I’ll run you through how Chase Visa Offers with The Hyatt Credit Card work.  And where you can save some cash!

If you’re a Chase Hyatt cardholder, you’re currently eligible for discounts though Chase Hyatt Visa Offers.  In the past, Chase Marriott Premier (no longer offered) cardholders qualified for these deals, but they’ve been discontinued for that card.

It’s easy to sign-up and find out which discounts you qualify for.  Then, activate the offers you like and get a rebate when you make a qualifying purchase.  I just saved $20 off a $75+ Boxed.com purchase this way!

This is how to save.

Step 1.   Register Your Card on the Chase Hyatt Visa Offers Page

Head over to the Chase Hyatt Visa Offers page and select “Register Now.”  Or choose “Sign In” if you’ve already created an account.

Step 2.   Submit Your Email Address

Confirm your email address (twice) and verify you’re not a robot.

Step 3.   Check Your Email to Confirm Your Account

You’ll see a message instructing you to check your email to verify your account.

Step 4.   Paste the Link From Your Email and Complete Registration

Check your email for a link to paste into your browser.  Then finish the registration by setting a password, entering your Chase Hyatt card number, and adding your location to get customized offers.

Step 5.   Check Out Your Offers and Activate

Once you’ve registered, you can sign into your account and view current offers.  To get your discount, you’ll need to activate them before you make a purchase.  I activated an offer to save $20 off a $75 Boxed.com purchase and it went through super easily!

On my account, I see other offers valid until July 2, 2018, like:

• Lowe’s – Save $10 on your in-store purchase of $50 or more
• Exhale – $20 back on your next purchase of $100 or more
• HelloFresh – $15 back on your next purchase of $50 or more (for new subscribers)
• StubHub – $10 back on your online purchase of $100 or more
• Nectar – $50 back on your online purchase of $500 or more
• Stitch Fix – $15 back on merchandise purchase of $50 or more (new customers only)
• NatureBox – $15 back on your online purchase of $30 or more (new members only)
• Wayfair – $15 back on your online purchase of $100 or more
• Etsy – $10 back on your online purchase of $40 or more
• Hulu With Live TV – $20 back on a new Hulu With Live TV Subscription (new Hulu customers only)
• Harry’s – $5 back on your online purchase of $15 or more (new customers only)
• Cinemark Theatres – $5 back on your purchase of $20 or more
• Harry and David – $10 back on your online purchase of $40 or more
• Avis Car Rental – 10% back (up to $50) on your next car rental

Most of these, except Lowe’s and Cinemark, are not terribly appealing to me, but they might be up your alley!  I’ve noticed there’s a fair bit of overlap with AMEX Offers.  I recently activated an offer for $20 off a $75 purchase at Boxed.com and saved a bit of money on regular household purchases.

Boring!  I Stocked up on Bath Tissue and Paper Towels

I’ve purchased through Boxed.com a few times before when they’ve had discounts through AMEX Offers.  They sell items in bulk, similar to a big box store like Costco, but don’t have membership fees and ship to your door.  Plus, delivery is free if you spend more than $49.

Their prices are often a few bucks higher than what you’d pay at a wholesale club, so definitely do the math before you buy.  That said, I’ve found good deals on items like packaged snacks for the kids’ school lunches, and household items like laundry detergent, hand soap, dishwasher pucks, and toilet paper.

Combined with discounts from Chase Hyatt Visa Offers or past AMEX Offers, it’s certainly possible to save a nice chunk of change!

Team member Scott is currently the Million Mile Secrets toilet paper Grand Poobah.  I’m not trying to start a fight, but after another Boxed order or 2, the kids and I intend to give him a run for his money. 😉

All told, I spent almost exactly $75 and got 3 huge (30-count double-roll) packs of toilet paper, a 12-pack of extra large roll paper towels, an absurdly huge jug of salsa, and (because Boxed gives you 2 freebies on each order) 2 boxes of Annie’s organic mac n’ cheese.  Minus the $20 discount, it cost ~$55 including tax.  Not earth-shattering, but less than I’d have spent at Costco for similar items.  And I didn’t have to go to the store!

Immediately after the purchase, I got an email from Chase saying I’d spent on the offer (much like you do with AMEX Offers).  And a few days later, the rebate showed up in my account.  However, it was processed as a return, so you’ll only earn points on the purchase minus the discount.

While I haven’t tried any other offers, I suspect they work similarly.  My experience was seamless.

Note:   If you’re new to Boxed, you can earn $15 off your first order of $60+ by signing-up via referral link (and the person who refers you gets a $15 credit).  This is my link, but use a friend’s instead if you can, or share yours in the comments.  This discount should stack with the Chase Hyatt Visa Offer, as long as your final order total is at least $75.

Bottom Line

If you’re a Chase Hyatt cardholder, don’t forget to check out Chase Hyatt Visa Offers.  They’re similar to AMEX Offers, but you’ll have to register first, and activate your offers before you make a purchase.  Then, you’ll get a rebate when you use your card to make a qualifying purchase at the participating merchant.

There aren’t a huge number of retailers on my account, but I was able to save $20 off a $75 Boxed purchase and got a nice little discount on household supplies.  You can also save money at places like Etsy, Lowe’s, Cinemark Theatres, and more.

It’s a good deal if you’d be spending the money anyway (but do the math first!).  And it only takes a few seconds to register.
