You’ll earn 75,000 Hilton points when you spend $2,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of opening the Citi Hilton HHonors card.
This offer was available last year, and it’s the highest bonus I’ve seen for this card. You’ll also get:
- 6 Hilton points for every $1 you spend at Hilton hotels
- 3 Hilton points for every $1 you spend at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations
- 2 Hilton points for every $1 you spend on everything else
- NO annual fee
- Free Hilton Silver elite status (late check-out, 2 free bottles of water, and 15% points bonus on Hilton points earned)
- Free Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast at some locations) after staying 4 times at Hilton in the 1st 90 days of account opening, or after spending $20,000 on purchases in a calendar year
- 10,000 Hilton points at the end of a calendar year when you spend $1,000 or more at Hilton hotels
This is a terrific deal for a card that has NO annual fee. You can keep it forever and potentially boost your credit score.
However, it has a 3% foreign transaction fee, so it’s NOT a good card to use when you travel abroad.
Hilton hotels include Conrad, Canopy, Curio, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations, Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, Tru, and Waldorf Astoria brand hotels. This is a Citi card, so you’re eligible for Citi Price Rewind, which refunds you money when prices go down on certain items you’ve bought.
If you recently received a lower bonus on this card, it’s worth calling Citi to see if they’ll match you to the better bonus!
Should You Consider This Card?
If you collect Hilton points and like cards with no annual fee, this is an excellent deal.
I like that this card comes with automatic Hilton Silver elite status, which gets you a 15% points bonus on Hilton hotel stays.
Plus you’ll earn 6X Hilton points when you use the card to pay for your stay. But this is NOT the card that earns the most points for Hilton stays.
And if you spend $20,000 on purchases in a calendar year, you’ll earn Hilton Gold elite status, which gets you free breakfast at certain Hilton hotels, and upgrades if they’re available.
There’s also an improved offer for the Hilton Honors™ Card from American Express card which earns 70,000 Hilton points after meeting minimum spending. And it also has no annual fee.
You can get both cards because they’re different card products. That said, my favorite Hilton card is still the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve, because you earn 2 weekend nights at almost any Hilton after completing the minimum spending requirements. And it comes with automatic Hilton Gold elite status.
Remember, Citi only allows 1 credit card application per day, and will approve NO more than 2 personal credit cards within 65 days. You must also wait ~8 days between applications.
If you’ve already earned the bonus on this card, you must wait 18 months after you’ve opened or closed it to earn it again.
Here’s how to decide which Hilton card is right for you. And check out my post on all the ways to earn Hilton points!

As long as you complete the minimum spending ~5 to ~7 days before your account closes for the month, you’ll receive the points at the end of the billing cycle.
75,000 Hilton points is enough for 15 award nights at a Hilton Category 1 hotels (5,000 Hilton points per night). And it’s almost enough for 8 award nights at Hilton Category 2 (10,000 Hilton points per night) hotels!
