We’re seeing lots of new welcome offers lately for cards that don’t normally come with a sign-up bonus!

I told you that the Citi ThankYou Premier once again has a sign-up bonus of 50,000 ThankYou points.  And I let you know how to score 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points after opening the The Blue Business®️ Plus Credit Card from American Express.

Now, you can open the Citi® Double Cash Card and earn a $100 cash back bonus after you spend $500 in purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.  Plus, this card has a decent rewards earning rate and no annual fee!

Here’s what you need to know about this deal.

Citi Double Cash Now Has a Sign-Up Bonus!

The Citi Double Cash does NOT normally come with a welcome offer.  But you can now open the card and receive $100 in bonus cash after spending $500 in purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.

You’ll also earn 1% cash back on all your purchases. And as long as you meet the minimum payment each month, you’ll earn another 1% cash back on your payments.  That’s a solid earning rate for a card with NO annual fee!

Plus, everyone should have a no annual fee card!  It helps increase the average age of your credit accounts.  This is especially important if you apply for & cancel cards frequently.

Here’s what you need to know about this card:

  • There is NO limit on how much cash back you can earn
  • You will NOT earn cash back on credit card feesinterestcash advancesmoney orders, and balance transfers
  • Cash back expires if there is no activity on your card for 12 months

You will also pay a 3% foreign transaction fee with this card.  So it’s NOT a good idea to use it overseas.

If you already have lots of credit cards from AMEX, Chase, and Citi, this could be a good deal for you!  But I do NOT recommend this card if you’re new to the miles & points hobby.  Because there are credit cards with more valuable sign-up bonuses and benefits that you should open first.

Bottom Line

The Citi Double Cash card doesn’t normally come with a sign-up bonus.  But you’ll now get $100 in bonus cash after spending $500 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.  So if you’ve been thinking about opening this card, now is a great time!

If you’re new to miles & points, I do NOT recommend this card.  There are other better credit cards you should open first.  But if you’ve already got lots of credit cards, this could be a nice opportunity!
