Not long ago, all 3 Southwest credit cards were offering 60,000 Southwest points after meeting minimum spending requirements.  But Chase recently lowered the sign-up bonuses of both personal cards to 40,000 points.

However, there’s still a live link for earning 60,000 Southwest points when you open the Chase Southwest Plus card and spend $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening!  The card also comes with:

  • 2 points per $1 spent with Southwest
  • 1 point per $1 on all other purchases
  • 3,000 points each cardmember anniversary
  • $69 annual fee, NOT waived the first year

Earning 60,000 Southwest points is extra handy!  Because you’ll qualify for the Southwest Companion Pass after earning 110,000 qualifying Southwest points in a calendar year, which lets you bring a travel buddy with you for nearly free for almost 2 years!

The Southwest Companion Pass Nearly Doubles the Value of Your Southwest Points If You Bring Along a Travel Buddy!

So if you open the Southwest Premier Small Business card and the Chase Southwest Plus card with this link, you’ll earn 120,000 Southwest points!  That’s more than enough to qualify for the Southwest Companion Pass after you meet minimum spending!

Note:   The Chase Southwest cards are under Chase’s “5/24 rule.”  That is, if you’ve opened ~5 or more credit cards (from any bank) in the past 24 months (excluding certain business cards), you’re unlikely to get approved for most Chase cards.

Want More Southwest Points?

In addition to opening Chase Southwest credit cards, you can transfer the Chase Ultimate Rewards points you earn with the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire ReserveInk Business Preferred, and Chase Ink Bold or Ink Plus (no longer available) directly to Southwest at a 1:1 ratio.  But they will NOT count towards the Southwest Companion Pass.

Bottom Line

There’s still an offer for 60,000 Southwest points after opening the Chase Southwest Plus card and spending $2,000 within 3 months of account opening.  That’s great, because it makes the Southwest Companion Pass much easier to earn!

There’s no telling how long this link will last, so you should apply quickly if you’ve been considering this card!

I applied for the Southwest rapid rewards plus card on July 22 got it and it was supposedly for 40,000 mile points if you spend $1000 within three months I have certainly exceeded that within 1 month and it looks like right around that time there was a 60,000 Point bonus, my question is none of these point of posted to my account yet except for 1400 points from the shopping that I did. And, should I be getting the 60,000 points and not the lower 40k? I'm kind of bothered and concerned that there was a set 60,000 offer out there and when I called to chase directly & applied & I asked if there was a better offer and they said no.

Are these links still valid? They are pulling up with the 60k, but I haven't been able to hunt down anything more than 40 today - I don't want to apply and then it not be valid for the 60 and ruin our 5/24 🙂

What's the best way to apply for both the Personal and business cards if I'd like both? Both on same day? Different browsers? 1 on one day and 1 on another?

Space them out by at least a day. And be prepared to call Chase reconsideration in case the second application goes to pending when you apply.

MM Secrets Team

I got the SW card a few years back, all four of them for my personal and my LLC. I am within the 5/24 time frame right now with Chase, but I just opened up another LLC. Since the new LLC will have a new EIN, can I get the business card under the new LLC, or because my name is still on the card, will my 5/24 create a problem on the new LLC business card?

Thank you for your website and communicating to clearly in your blog.

Chase says:

"Chase cardmembers who currently have or have had a Chase credit card in any Rewards Program associated with this offer, may not be eligible for a second Chase credit card in the same Rewards Program."

So you'll have to close your current business card before you get another one. After closing your current card, you can get another one for the new LLC. Hope that helps!

MM Team - Kindly following up on my comment.

Just an FYI, it looks like all 3 cards have a live 60K point signup link. If you click on the link in this story for the Plus Card, the lower half of that landing page has links for 60K point bonus Business and Premier cards.

Here's the link for the Premier:

Thanks, Grant! It looks like the link on that landing page takes you to an "Offer Unavailable" page, though :\
