Am I no longer able to transfer ANY of my Chase Ultimate Rewards points into my United Airlines account!?I have a lot of points I thought were transferable to United Airlines from Chase Ink Bold (no longer available), Chase Freedom, and Chase Sapphire Preferred. I no longer see the pathway on the website for transferring to United Airlines.
Don’t worry, Scott! You can still transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines. But Chase has redesigned their website.

How to Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards Points
There are lots of ways you can use Chase Ultimate Rewards points, including cash back, statement credits, and travel booked through Chase.
But you’ll get the most value by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to travel partners for Big Travel.
The Chase Ultimate Rewards site went through some changes last year. So the way you transfer points to airline and hotel partners is now different.
Here’s how it works.
Step 1 – Log-in & Go to the Transfer Page
Sign into your Chase account and select which card’s points you’d like to transfer.

Then click on the “Use Points” tab at the top of the page. Then select “Transfer to Travel Partners.”

Step 2 – Select Transfer Partner & Enter Your Account Information
Select United Airlines or the travel partner you want.

Then enter your name and United Airlines (or other transfer partner) account number.

Scott can also transfer his Chase Ultimate Rewards points to his spouse or domestic partner’s frequent flyer account.
Step 3 – Transfer Your Points
Finally, enter the number of Chase Ultimate Rewards points you’d like to transfer.

Only Chase Ultimate Rewards Points in Your Ink Bold, Ink Plus, or Sapphire Preferred Accounts Transfer Directly to Travel Partners
Chase allows you to transfer your points to airline & hotel partners when you have any 1 of these cards:
- Chase Ink Bold (no longer available)
- Chase Ink Plus
- Chase Sapphire Preferred
Scott can transfer the points he earns with these cards directly to Chase Ultimate Rewards airline partners:
Chase Ultimate Rewards Airline Transfer Partners | ||
---|---|---|
Aer Lingus | British Airways | Flying Blue (Air France/KLM) |
Iberia | JetBlue | Singapore Airlines |
Southwest | United Airlines | Virgin Atlantic |
Along with hotel and rail partners:

Hyatt | IHG | Marriott |
Ritz-Carlton |
But the transfer process is different for the Chase Ultimate Rewards points Scott earns with cards such as:
- Chase Freedom
- Chase Ink Business Cash Credit Card
- Chase Sapphire (no longer available)
These points must 1st be combined in his Ink Bold, Ink Plus, or Sapphire Preferred account, before Scott can transfer them to travel partners.
Bottom Line
Chase has redesigned their website so there’s a new process to transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to airline & hotel partners.
Here’s my post on how to get Big Travel with your Chase Ultimate Rewards points!
