AMEX is sending a targeted offer to earn 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points by enrolling in AMEX Extended Pay.

Normally, you’re required to pay your full charge card balance every month, and if you don’t, there are substantial penalties.  But AMEX Extended Pay allows you to carry a balance if you meet certain conditions.

The offer is being sent by snail mail and email.  If you’d like to search your inbox, here’s the subject line of the email:

Congratulations, Card Member. You’ve Been Selected to Enroll in a Flexible Payment Option on Your Card.

If you didn’t get the message, you can try signing-in to your AMEX account to see if your card is eligible.  But be sure to read the fine print to make sure you’ll get the bonus points.

If you’re still not targeted, don’t worry!  AMEX appears to target new folks with this offer each month.

AMEX Extended Pay allows folks to pay off eligible charges of $100+ over time.  But you’ll have to pay interest charges if you carry a balance.  That’s why I always suggest paying your balance off in full every month.

But you do NOT have to use this feature just because you enroll your card.  And you’ll still receive the 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points if you’re targeted.  This is an easy deal!

After enrolling in the offer, you should see the points in your account within a few days.

You can read my reviews on the increased offers to earn up to 100,000 points with the AMEX Business Platinum and 50,000 points with the AMEX Business Gold.  Remember, AMEX small business cards won’t hurt your chances of getting new Chase cards!

Bottom Line

You can earn 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points when you’re targeted to enroll in extended pay.

You don’t have to use the feature to pay over time (and get charged interest!).  This is a free and easy way to earn points!

  1. Bummer. I wish they would accept the Zync card, its not listed as eligible charge product.

  2. I see the option to enroll in my businees gold account but there’s no mention of the 10K bonus for doing so. I assume I should hold off and check back?

  3. @Tommy B. – I’d hold off because you might be targeted for the points in the future. That said, I’d call and check and see if you’re eligible.

  4. I didn’t get the email, but I was selected. Thanks for the tip!

  5. I applied for a Amex PRG Biz card in April and got the 10K offer via snail mail last month. It posted within a couple of days.

  6. I got the email the other day. I accepted and the 10K posted about 4 days later. No credit pull, so this is a really easy 10K if you get the email and accept.
