With Club Carlson elite status, you can get room upgrades, food & drink discounts, and late check-out!

And via Deals We Like, Club Carlson is offering a status match.  So if you have elite status with another hotel chain (like Marriott or Hilton), you can match your status with Club Carlson!

This is great news, because you can get automatic elite status at other hotel chains with certain credit cards.  Then match your status to Club Carlson!

I’ll tell you more about Club Carlson’s status match.  And which hotel cards give you automatic elite status.

If you have elite status with a hotel chain like Hyatt, Marriott, or Hilton, you can get a status match with Club Carlson.  They’re only matching to their Silver and Gold status.  Not their highest “Concierge” level, which gets you lounge access and free breakfast.  🙁

To get a match, send an email to statusmatch@carlsonrezidor.com with the subject line “Status Match”.

In the email, include your:

  • Full name
  • Club Carlson number
  • Hotel program you are matching to (like Hyatt or Marriott)
  • Membership number & elite status level for the hotel program you’re matching to
  • Proof of status (like a copy of your membership card)

Cards That Give You Elite Hotel Status

One of the easiest ways to get elite status is with a credit card that gives you automatic status.

Of course, with the Club Carlson Premier Rewards card, you’ll get free Club Carlson Gold elite status.

But what other cards give you automatic elite status, that you could then match to Club Carlson?

The Chase Hyatt card gets you free Hyatt Platinum elite status.  And you’ll earn 2 free nights at any Hyatt after meeting minimum spending requirements.  Here’s my review of the card.

With the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select card, you’ll get free Platinum IHG elite status.  And 70,000 IHG Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements.

The Marriott Rewards Premier card gives you automatic Silver elite status.  Along with 80,000 Marriott points after spending the minimum required.  You can read my review of this offer here.

And with the AMEX Hilton Surpass and Citi Hilton Reserve cards, you’ll get free Gold elite status with Hilton.

So, you can use any of these credit cards to get automatic hotel elite status.  Then get a status match with Club Carlson!

Even if you don’t have a stay planned at a Club Carlson hotel, I’d recommend getting a status match.  Because it’s easy!  And you never know when a travel opportunity might come up. 😉

  1. One CC status match per lifetime.

  2. I am Hilton HHonors Gold. I was only matched to Silver. I got the following reply – “We match top level to Gold Elite and second level to Silver Elite. The Hilton HHonors Gold membership is comparable to our Club Carlson Silver Elite membership.”

    Is this correct?
