Save $50 on a $100+ Orbitz Hotel Booking AND Help Support Cancer Research!

This deal is a win-win!  I’ll explain how it works.

What’s the Deal?

Link:   Orbitz MasterPass / Stand Up To Cancer Promotion

You’ll save $50 off a $100+ Orbitz hotel booking when you use promotion code “MASTERPASS” and check-out with your MasterCard using MasterPass (MasterCard’s digital wallet).

For each booking, MasterCard will donate $100 to Stand Up To Cancer.  They’re a charity that funds innovative cancer research with the aim of getting new treatments to patients more quickly.

This deal will NOT last!  The promotion code is valid until MasterCard reaches $500,000 in donations (50,000 bookings) or until December 31, 2015, whichever comes first.

There are some restrictions:

  • Most major hotel chains are excluded (so you don’t have to worry about earning points or having your elite status honored)
  • Only hotels labelled “Promo Code Eligible” qualify for the discount
  • Total booking cost must be $100 or more
  • Discount is for pre-paid, new bookings only and can’t be applied to existing reservations
  • You must use a MasterCard with MasterPass to pay for your booking

Join Orbitz Rewards (it’s free), and you’ll earn Orbucks (the award program currency for Orbitz) for your stay.  Each Orbuck is worth $1 off future Orbitz hotel bookings.

For even more points, use a MasterCard that earns bonus points at online travel agencies, like the Citi ThankYou Premier or Citi Prestige.

This is a terrific deal and a no-brainer if you have a paid stay coming up (and aren’t picky about booking a non-chain hotel).  If you find a hotel close to $100, it’s like saving ~50%!

Even better, you’ll help support cancer research!

These promotions usually sell out very quickly, so book soon.

Let me know if you get a good deal!

  2. Thanks for this great nugget of info!! I successfully booked a room in Solvang, CA in January for a winetasting trip with my wife for her b-day….. Wine Valley Inn & Cottages. Normally $99+tax and I ended up getting for $62 total and used my Barclay Arrival+ for my MasterPass which brought my total effective cost to $42 total! (had 2K Barclay points left that I can use for $20 value since I’m in grace period where I can redeem reward of < $100 value)

  3. MasterPass payment method is not showing at checkout. Using MasterCard or other payment method gives error message that masterpass checkout must be selected.
